It was a lot of fun! The hour passes without you even realizing it.
First game I tried out was Affected: The Manor. It's the horror game, but really it was a few jump scares and your standard creepy horror soundtrack. It was very disorienting because you are moving through the hallways, so the audio and visual is moving, but your body isn't. That took a little while to get used to, but once you got a grip on that it was a cool VR experience. The coolest thing was that when you got to a corner in a hallway, you could actually lean and look around the corner! There is also a part where the hallway ends and there is a makeshift bridge stretching over a room far before, and man does it give you vertigo!
The next game I played was my favourite, and it had the best name to go with it. SPACE PIRATE SIMULATOR!!! It's a really straight-forward shooter, but was quite the challenge. You can rock two guns with different shooting modes each, or you can put your hand behind your head and draw a shield to protect yourself. If you get hit three times the game ends, so I found the shield to be the better option.
GML... SPACE PIRATE!!! Shield in left hand, gun spitting death in the right!
The other game I played was called A-10 VR, which was really just a shooting gallery. You're never really attacked, so it is just a matter of how much time you want to spend shooting things.
Not sure if this video will show up because of the permissions, but
this is how ridiculous people when they are playing a VR shooting game.
Overall, I had an absolute blast and will definitely be booking time there again. I did a review on their Facebook page and was told that they have some new games coming down the pipeline that should be ready for July. The best part of all this is that in the hour that I played, I didn't even sample half of what they have available. There are some games that have multiple games built into one experience, so you could easily play that one for an hour.
