I think it looks good. Maybe put a light grey then come back with white, that's how I fix that problem.

Thanks Dread!  Yes I’m going to try and give it another go.  My mistake was probably going in too soon with the glue, wrecked the paint job.  :P

Wow! Super nice I love it. Great scheme and super clean paint job. Keep rocking Tangi!

Thanks Cav, glad you like it!  ;D

Agree with the others, he looks like he's coming along quite well.

Cheers Myen’Tal!  :)

Hey Cap, I'm glad to see your creative juices firing again. That Captain looks sweet. It's a terrific model (I hope you enjoyed painting him as much as I did!) and I think you've done it justice. The golds are really nice and the cape is well done. I know you were worried about the blues, but they look good. As for the chapter badge, it's not up to your usual high standard, but I think with a touch of edge highlighting to clean it up a little, it'll start to pop.

Great work man, I'm looking forward to seeing some more.

Great to hear from you again Loosh, and I’m glad you like it!  Yes he’s a sweet mini and it was a joy to work on.  Thank you for the feedback too, I’ll try that with the badge.  :)

In the meantime I managed to finish his base:

I think it came out ok.

And whilst I work on his chapter badge, there’s also this:

This should be fun!

I like the grittier gold, I think it matches the environment you've got him in :)

Thanks mag!   :)

I’ve begun painting it proper too:

I was originally going to paint the armour around the sarcophagus blue but now I’m not so sure...thoughts?

I'm kinda digging the gold myself. Don't often see them done that way anymore. I'd keep it.

I finally built my other interceptors:

but I had some mishaps along the way...those bolters are a nightmare to put together...had trouble with the purity seals too...and I forgot myself and glued the chapter badge on one, and broke it when removing it.  Doh.  :P

I call them target practice. Oops, did I say that out loud. ;D

On the dreadnought, really love it but I think blue knee caps would five it a better flow.

Looking good there Cap. Those interceptors are a bit of a be-atch to put together, but look good for the effort.

The dreadnought is coming together nicely. I'm with Dread, thought little bit more blue would work wonders and break up the gold. Kneecaps are a solid suggestion. According to 'Eavy Metal folk, with a spot colour, you want to try to do an odd number of elements with the spot colour, in order to be most visually pleasing. I don't know where I would put that 3rd or 5th point of colour (Maybe the 'head'), but all I know is that was what was suggested by 'Eavy Metal in a WD many moons ago!

Looking good overall and I look forward to seeing the finished products.

I was going to ask how it took them so long to make these but I forgot, sisters have been doing this for years.  ;D

Yes.  Yes you did.  ;)

I’ll consider blue kneecaps too, although I’ll probably end up closely following the foot troops.

@ Looshkin

Thank you for the advice!  I think I probably will end up painting the head blue.  Or possibly white...would dreadnaughts be considered vets?

Also, annoying news.  My earlier finished interceptors had an accidental fall and broke off their flying bases.  Now I’ve got to worry about repairing them.  :P

Hello again folks!  Progress on the dread continues:

And I’ve finally assembled the rest of my Hellbasters:

And started work on the rest of the Intercessors:

When all is said and done, I’ll be one squad short of a demi-company.  Time to get cracking!  ;D

Thanks magenb!  :)

I had a slightly calamity with him; I originally attached the little shoulder shield on him before realising that this would block his vision!  :P

I hope the purity seal covers the glue damage lol.

Hoping the dreadnaught is turning out ok too.  As a big mini it’s hard to hide the mistakes.  :P

Looking good! The final product is gonna be glorious.  BTW, how'd your repairs go on the flying stands?

Thanks Myen’Tal!  Much obliged!  ;D

The dread has had me worried, but you’ve helped reassure me lol.

Thanks Dread!  Yes I’m looking forward to presenting the finished dread, and then the Librarian afterwards lol.

As for the repair jobs...I’ve not yet started them.  I’m genuinely apprehensive about them though, in case they don’t work out.  :o

I’ve just cleaned them up, and I’ll give it a go very soon.  Wish me luck!  :P

How do folks.  I still haven’t fixed those Interceptors, but in the meantime, I made a start on the Librarian:

Pretty happy with him so far.  Just one question...what colour to paint his robes and cloak?  I’ve done the robes of other models in white but I’m wondering if he deserves something different?

Anyway, take care and enjoy!  :)

That librarian is already looking brilliant Cap. Super cool.

I think that sticking with white would be best for the libby. He already will stand out from the other marines with the amount of blue,  so I don't think you need to do anything more bold than that.

I ike the fact that the librarian's colour scheme is almost the negative version of your regular primaris.

The librarian looks sick! Also, have you read Spears of the Emperor? The Celestial Lions are a huge element in that book!
