Title: GK strike squads
Post by: Halollet on July 15, 2015, 05:54:27 PM
GK strike squads... Does anyone use them? Is there any use for them? I got 60 of the things and no idea how to use them. Anyone have any tips for using these guys?

60 obsec marine models can always be a tricky thing for people to deal with. Grey Knights are even more annoying to deal with. Just keep them dirt cheap with no upgrades at all, except maybe a few daemon hammers or psycannons.

So, I do what exactly with them? Go strike force and deep strike them all in?

I would love to see that happen.

Whether it's a good idea or not is another matter though :P

Grand Master

Grey Knight Stirke x10
Nemesis Hammer x1
Nemesis Halerd x4
Incinerator x2

Grey Knight Stirke x10
Nemesis Hammer x1
Nemesis Halerd x4
Incinerator x2

Grey Knight x10
Nemesis Hammer x1
Nemesis Halerd x3
Psycannon x2

Grey Knight x10
Nemesis Hammer x1
Nemesis Halerd x3
Psycannon x2

Purifiers x10
Nemesis Hammer x2
Nemesis Halerd x6
Incinerator x2

Storm Raven
TL Lascannon
TL Multimelta

1850 points
53 models

Combat squad all of them and deep strike them in turn one.  Purifiers can combat squad in the raven and then unleash burning death when they pop out.  This gives me 17 warp dice to play with.

I wouldn't use the detachment in the codex. I'd use a combined arms detachment. All those troops units which combat squad..You want those to be Objective secured models.

Maybe drop the Raven and purifiers for 2 dreadknights to sit on the board turn 1 and then shunt turn 2?
