40K Zombie RP Sign Up (one slot) and Character Creation
« on: April 11, 2011, 05:37:37 PM »
OK everyone I'm planning on running a zombie roleplay. I'm seeing if anyone wants to play ill take 6 people.

You have been recruited by an inquisitor to investigate a mysterious plague that has been reported on a planet. He is in orbit around the planet and sends a small team of acolytes to see whats going on. It will be your job to learn all you can about the outbreak and to survive.

I was or originally planning on running it as a Dark Heresy game, but I have never played before so I'm just going to do it narrative style. I want to know though do you guys want to still use the Character builder and armoury with extra exp and money andjust drop the rules, or me make you a format to make your character and completely drop Dark Heresy?

I am in and good for just about anything.
So, what your saying is it's not your fault you look stupid by using words you don't get?

I don't have the Dark Heresy rulebook or the Inquisitor's Handbook, but I would be happy to play if those aren't a requirement.

I believe both of those are free online.

It is a fair bit to read though...

(And I do have both if needed)

OK don't worry we wont use them, this will be easier anyways.

OK guys here is the format to follow, feel free to be creative. My only rule here is be reasonable. I don't care if you want to be a Biomancer with medical training, just as long as your not wearing power armor with a mounted plasma cannon on each arm.

Name:
Age:
Gender:
Occupation: (Anything from being underhive scum, to a tech priest. Anything that the inquisitor thought could be useful.)
Specialist Skills: (1-3 skills that your character is best at. Like wielding a bolt pistol in each hand, or computer hacking.)
General Skills: (Any other skills you have. Moderate sword fighting skill, driving, or something of that sort.)
Misc: Anything you think we should know.
Background:
Inventory: (If you don't list it here you don't have it. Anything you want, just be reasonable. Small bolt weapons auto weapons, maybe a power sword thats all OK. Flak Armor, trench coats, stuff like thats OK to.)

Have fun and PM any questions.

Edit: Trust me I know they are free online.... If you have them you can use them for Ideas.

Is this inquisitor puritan or radical?  If he's not too puritan then I'd like this to be my character:

Name: Victorinus Rourke, Marshall
Age: 47
Gender: Male
Occupation: Adeptus Arbites ret., Law Enforcement
Spec. Skills: Interrogation, Gunslinging
General Skills: Brawling, Cursing, Drinking, Charming Women

Misc: Enjoys home made rotgut as much as is possible, to the point that using his pension, he has acquired himself a bionic liver and trachea.  The originals were too damaged for repair by medical technicians.

Background: A lawman from a backwater world on the Eastern Fringe, Rourke was originally a member of the Adeptus Arbites, but was retired with full benefits after three years of service due to an Administratum clerical error.  Upon his retirement, he became a free agent, enforcing the local and imperial laws while keeping  an uneasy peace between the Tau Water caste traders that operate an enclave on the planet and the more puritan Imperial citizens.

Inventory: paired pulse pistols, long coat with in-sewn flak plating, broad-brim blue felt hat, Greater Theropterix (could be anything from attack dog sized to cavalry-mount sized lizard- GM discretion), shock cuffs and stun baton

Lets just say he wants what he says to be done to get done. ;)

I like the character, very nice. Ill let you take it as a mount, it will be the main reason you were hired. As for your pulse pistols, those seem ok to me to. Just remember they will be very close ranged. But all in all I love your character, very well done.

It is a fair bit to read though...

Could you post the links to these, please? I googled them and looked on Fantasy Flight Games' website but couldn't find them.

I think he means from less than legitimate sources...

Inquisitor Handbook and extra stuff:
http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/content/article.jsp?catId=cat480007a&categoryId=1100009&section=&aId=4900004

And Dark Heresy is actually not free - I thought it was cause I didn't pay for it - but I have a hard copy that my friend gave to me when he stopped playing

Name: Faith
Gender: Female
Age: 44
Home World: 67 – Greater Forge World
Career: 34 – Assassin
Specialization: The Moriat: Prefers to use bladed weapons – does more damage with them, but will only use non-bladed weapons as a last resort.
Skills: Climb, Secret tongue (Moriat), Shadowing, Silent Move
Equipment: Mono-sword, 6 throwing knives, crossbow-pistol with 20 bolts, Grapnel and line, equipment harness, body glove

Background: Faith was born to the Forge World of Piraxis. At a young age she was marked out for duty to the Emperor as a Moriat. Her parents were deemed traitors to the Imperial cause, and an assassin was sent to eliminate them. During the assassination, the agent found a young babe not even a year standard. She was taken with the agent back to the monastery. Growing up amid blood rituals and a perverted translation of the Imperial Creed perverted the young girl's mind. She never shied away from any of it though, and her faith grew daily. So vigorously and dogmatically did she hold to the Moriat's creed that she was soon given the name of Faith.

When she was 16 she was sent out on her trial known as the Travail. She journeyed across the Imperium, slaughtering those who defied her version of the Imperial Creed. Steeped in the blood of the guilty, Faith returned to her Monastery and declared a full assassin. She has been sent out to find and eliminate those who betray the Imperium.

It was during a mission in a brothel that Faith encountered the Inquisition for the first time, and although their interaction was not benevolent, it did plant the seeds for further interaction.

Misc:  Faith is a specialist in bladed weapons (this includes her crossbow-pistol). Anything without a blade she considers a disgrace to use. She excels in the art of stealth and subterfuge - enjoying sneaking up on her enemies and in slitting their jugular veins. After a kill, she will ritually bathe in the opponents blood.

She believes that it is a woman's responsibility to bear as many children for the Imperium as she can, and a Man's responsibility is to sire as many as he can. Exceptions are made for those who are serving the Imperium in other ways that would not allow them to have children.
