First post...wanted to commemorate it with the pictures of what will be the core of my (wife's) Sisters army.  I just finished painting the second squad and Canoness.  It took me an age to finally force myself to finish them, but I think they came out pretty well.  I liked the look of the 'standard' black armor with red cloth, but opted to vary the hair colors to make it more interesting.  The Canoness gets the white hair so she stands out.  I also wanted to go with something different for her power sword than the usual blue or green, so I tried for a red-hot edge type look.

In terms of army composition and wargear, I went with what I had available from boxed sets and what I thought looked cool versus what might be ideal on the battlefield...the inevitable jump pack/eviscerator Canoness will come down the road, I'm sure.  ;)  What's shown is just short of 400 points, which is how many points in C:SM I have painted, so now my wife and I can play some small games.  She demolished me the first time out due to my poor judgement of charging distance over difficult terrain putting me at point blank range with a faceful of Acts of Faith empowered flamethrowery. :D

Please let me know what you think.  Next up will be an Immolator and a small unit of Celestians to ride in it, plus probably switching out some of the special weapons as I get more models.  By the way, the 'book' in the background is actually a fake tome I made into a carrying case with foam inserts.  I thought it was appropriate.

Superb work.  Really crisp, clean painting.  The colours are great .  Roll on the next unit.

Thats some very nice work Trevian, clean, vibrant and cohesive. My only complaint would be that the gold mettalics dont seem to have the same level of attention as the rest of the models.

Still great job, your an awesome husband.

And that custom case is very, very cool. Like seriously awesome.

Thank you very much. Looking at the pictures again, I agree about the gold; I'm going to go back over those areas with some highlighting. Any suggestions on that? I could use either a lighter gold or a silver...maybe both. Can't wait to get started on the Immolator, once I convince my wife to let me buy it. ;)

Edit:  My accountant (wife) says I can afford the Immolator after I get back from my sister's wedding next week.  Woo!

Nice work on the sisters! It's a good mix all together, looking forward to seeing the whole army once it's all finished. :)

Trevian- these are beautiful!
I really really like them.

On a side note: Canones would benefit from right arm repositioning. In my opinion sword pointing upwards would be even better..

How on earth did you make this pretty book/case?

Thanks again for the nice comments, they make me feel like the extensive time painting was worth it. :D

As for the Canoness' arm position, I purposefully put it that way for two reasons...first being that it seems like every leader character I've painted (SM:Captain, sergeants, sister superiors, etc) all have that 'sword arm up' pose, so I wanted to do something different.  Secondly (and bear in mind I pre-tested this with a real sword and I am an expert marksman with pistols), trying to shoot anything with arms outstretched fully in opposite directions and a heavy counterweight on the other side would be...difficult.  Since the inferno pistol isn't going to be shooting anything far away, the next move is probably going to be to either thrust the sword tip forward or whip the wrist around to bring extra speed to the blade's horizontal slicing, imo.  There's not a lot of followup moves to a sword held overhead. :)

Anyways, I don't want to take too much credit for the case since it was basically a conversion job on an existing product.  I saw the 'book' while walking through a craft store and it immediately jumped out at me, so I bought it, cut out foam inserts to hold the miniatures, and drilled holes for magnets to make the lid stay shut.  Below are some pictures.  There's currently room for two thick sheets with thin backings, so approximately 60 figures' worth.  Some of my Celestial Lions Space Marines are in there, too...that's my other ongoing project.

I completely agree with the above posters. The army / book case looks fantastic. It's a very catchy and fluffy thing to do.

Was it made by a professional or did you make it on you own?

If so, how did you do it?

You using normal Exorcist rules for this? I'd be interested to see more pics, looks like quite a cool idea.

Great miniatures Dan..
I've always wanted to have at least one Repressor.
Very nice painted SoB, but I'm not sure if I like pink Assassins. :) ;)

I like seeing the Mad Donna model amongst those. Great paint job on all of them.

A couple of test mini inquisitors i'm going to use for my new GK army come April.  Not the best painter in the world, still pretty new at it, so bare with me.

@ Dukephoto: How did you do those bases? did you use sand and bits from your Bitz box?

@ Draz: I really like what you've done with the first inquisitor (top), was that Green stuff you used?
