sory for unspecific post, i have decided to completly change my list which i am going to buy, to include 2 talos rather than 0. this is mainly based on the fact that they are so devasting and can crush basically anything squads into a rich bloody soup. i play with warriors mounted in raiders, wyches and a few other things and i play on a variety of different boards many of which are about 25% covered in terrain. thanx everyone
I would say that they are not at their best in a Raider force due to their slow speed; they can't keep up with the units in Raiders. They aren't without uses of course. When they do eventually get into assault they'll hurt a lot. Some players use them as fire magnets to draw shots away from Raiders, though smart opponents will ignore them until later, concentrating their fire on the Raiders instead.
IMO, two Taloi are at their best when deploying from a Webway Portal. That's how I use 'em.
Don't listen to the limited comments about open ended questions, what an open ended question allows you is the freedonm to take the question places that the questioner can't neccessarily see but is willing to enjoy where it goes so everyone should let there advice free rain and put their tuppence worth in.
The problem is that his original question (which he edited before you posted) basically read 'I am going to take two Taloi, is this good?'. Now, unless there are lots of members willing to write out huge essay-posts that can cover all possible contingencies then having such a vague question isn't likely to get a lot of replies. He helps himself by giving more detail - people are more likely to give answers when there are specific questions or when there is some backround detail. Open ended questions aren't bad by default, it's just when they are
too open-ended.
