sory for unspecific post, i have decided to completly change my list which i am going to buy, to include 2 talos rather than 0. this is mainly based on the fact that they are so devasting and can crush basically anything squads into a rich bloody soup. i play with warriors mounted in raiders, wyches and a few other things and i play on a variety of different boards many of which are about 25% covered in terrain. thanx everyone

Um... I don't really know what you are trying to say.
Are you saying:
a) You have had a revalation? You suddenly decided that having two taloses in 1K is good. I use 2 ravagers in 750, and that's good.
b) You have had a re-evaluation? You have been playing for a while, and after a long process of evaluation of specific units in your army, have decided that two taloses would be good.
c) You have had a revolution? You have suddenly changed your army alot, and included two taloses.
d) Something else.

What is the rest of your army like?
Does it have WWPs?
Do the boards you play on often have lots of cover?

Two taloses on the same part of the battlefield would be fairly devastating (2D6+2 attacks on the charge).

These open-ended questions are very difficult to give any meaningful answer shmee shmee, especially as you give so little detail with them. Try to be more detailed in future.

Don't listen to the limited comments about open ended questions, what an open ended question allows you is the freedonm to take the question places that the questioner can't neccessarily see but is willing to enjoy where it goes so everyone should let there advice free rain and put their tuppence worth in.  I personnally think that against heavily armoured opponents that talos's rock and kick serious butt and there is definate scope for some serious modelling and conversion that isn't neccessarily available in a lot of the Dark Eldar models (but that may be that I am a big bloke with big hands and those fiddely little peices can get annoying 8)  ), so if your fun is modelling then go for it.  I have found that I tend to use my talos as emergency back-up, to put a stop on something that is rampaging through my troops.

So 2 taloses can be excellent b ut also specialise too much and when a sniper squad costs about the same ya got to think 8) .

But thanks for the chance to allow me to pour out my drivel

I would say that they are not at their best in a Raider force due to their slow speed; they can't keep up with the units in Raiders. They aren't without uses of course. When they do eventually get into assault they'll hurt a lot. Some players use them as fire magnets to draw shots away from Raiders, though smart opponents will ignore them until later, concentrating their fire on the Raiders instead.

IMO, two Taloi are at their best when deploying from a Webway Portal. That's how I use 'em.

The problem is that his original question (which he edited before you posted) basically read 'I am going to take two Taloi, is this good?'. Now, unless there are lots of members willing to write out huge essay-posts that can cover all possible contingencies then having such a vague question isn't likely to get a lot of replies. He helps himself by giving more detail - people are more likely to give answers when there are specific questions or when there is some backround detail. Open ended questions aren't bad by default, it's just when they are too open-ended.
