Here are the tanks I have pictures of - I also have a Russ finished, and a Griffon in the works.  Mine aren't particularly uber or converted - the only conversions are on the chimeras, with one having a heavy flamer, the other a pintle heavy stubber using a necromunda bit.

Dat looks awesome!!! But to me It looks more like a Leopard tank, they are longer and lower than the abrams.

@Inquisitor Psychologis Ruminahui: Yea that arbites one is cool. Do use an airbrush for your tanks, it looks like it. Love the desert theme.

Glad you guys like the Arbites chimera.  The secret to the stripe is that you stick down masking tape on both sides to make it straight - and don't take it off until you are sure it is dry.

As for the other tanks, no, I don't use an airbrush.  Basically, I buy 3 cans of spray paint.  The first is the base colour, which I spray the entire model.  The other 2 are the stripe  colours, which I spray through a 5 mm gap I cut in a piece of card.  That ensures that you get strips on the model (as opposed to large blobs), and helps generate the feathered edges - without the cost of an air brush and air compressor.

Dr_Ruminahui, about that Arbites Chimera... I noticed you've added a winged fist to it. How did you go about doing that? The new plastic space marine scouts are tempting me to convert some Arbitrators and they would obviously need a satisfactorily converted ride.

There are some excellent tanks in here!

I particularly like Brave_Rifles Abrahams that he is scratch building. That looks fantastic!

I dont want to disapoint you Commander Aurillien, but im rather boring. It's just regular Leman Russ's and its varients for me, I'm far more into the gaming side of 40k then I am into the modelling side of 40k. While I may have the immagination for conversations, I just dont have the skills. By the way, I quite like that elongated Heavy Bolter you've got there, how did you pull that off?

Anyway, keep those tanks comming, this thread pleases me greatly!

So today I made pictures of some of my tanks - the rest on my shelf isn't painted or isn't really spectacular.

1) Sentinel Squadron

2) the Hellhound "Flammingo"

3) Leman Russ Exterminator "alter Kamerad" (='old comrade')
a reconverted former Ork tank.

4) Leman Russ Exterminator "Wotan"
Same chassis as above but with a scratchbuilt Executioner turret

5) My WWI-ish Leman Russ Battle Tank "die eiserne Jungfrau" (='the iron maiden')

6) The jewel of my collection: Baneblade tank "Mephisto"

7) Not really a tank, but I decided to post it here as well: My Battleflyer "Mortis"

Dr_Ruminahui, about that Arbites Chimera... I noticed you've added a winged fist to it. How did you go about doing that? The new plastic space marine scouts are tempting me to convert some Arbitrators and they would obviously need a satisfactorily converted ride.

I took the winged skull from the IG Vehicle accessory sprue, cut out the skull, and green stuffed the fist in its place.  I'm not a very good green-stuffer, but the fist was pretty easy, so it turned out well.

Nice tanks, Carrakon.  Is the Baneblade scratchbuilt?  If so, very nicely done.  I also notices you scratch built one of your sentinels.  The flyer is also interesting - I'd be interesting in seeing how you VDRed it.

Thanks ^^
The Baneblade isn't scratchbuilt - it's from a polish company selling vehicles..."inspired" by Warhammer. I got this one for 100€ and I like the old fashioned design.

Here come the rules for the flyer:

Mortis     188 points  10/10/10   BS 3
weapons: 2x twin-linked autocannons, 1x twin-linked heavy Bolters, 2 rockets
it's a heavy support choice.

Ok Go here to see mine......

www.paulgill2.supan et.com/

Currently my tank collection stands at 24 standard tanks, 1 VDR tank based on the Challenger, and 2 Forge World Baneblades, with a further 4 under construction out of plasticard (Being an engineer I got to measure up the forge world ones so they should end up the same.....)

Do they do any other good models?

Also anyone got any tanks painted up in snow camo? Particually any using blues in the scheme

To the engineer everything can be placed into one of two categories: things that need to be fixed, and things that will need to be fixed after you've had a few minutes to play with them.

I really need to get myself a digital camera one of these days. I have scratch built my own Marauder Destroyer out of card board and lots of spare bits from tank sprues. It bleedin huge as well, about the size 40K box! I have made a new turret for my Execuitoner made from card board and a pencil! Looks more like a cannon you see on a battleship but it fits the part.

These pictures and more can be found in my photobucket album by the way. See my siggy. I haven't posted pictures of any of my WiP tanks because they're not that interesting to look at, not having been painted and all.

More tanks coming right up.

But first some Sentinels. Not tanks, but at least they've got an armour value. ;)

My Salamander Cavalier. More pics in the tutorial on this site.

My first tank ever, the Chimera Wrathful. Repainted only once.

My second Chimera, Spiteful.

My as of yet nameless Demolisher.

My first and so far only LRMBT, Faustus.

And a group shot of the last four, just for the hell of it.

The last five pictures are a bit discoloured, strangely. The colours used were the exact same as those on the Salamander and Sentinels however.

Now would've been the time I'd finally have taken a picture of my Hellhound Xenophobe, but it's currently on display in GW Rotterdam along with Cavalier and some 50 infantry (yay, I'm famous :P). I'll post a picture of it once (if?) I get it back.

Sexy tanks Pax. What paint is that you use for them? Space Wolves Gray?

Ironically, natural light is making my tanks look unnatural. They're actually codex grey with ghostly grey edging. Thanks for the compliment, even though you might prefer the photographed tanks to the actual ones, because of the colour difference. :)

The very last picture gives you a better idea of what they actually look like in real life.

A pity about ghostly grey being discontinued by the way. I'm guessing that space wolves grey would be the closest thing to it, so I'll have to switch to that at some point in the future.

Sexy tanks Pax.

I agree, smooth and sexy!

Some very nice tanks all you guys have.

Sorry 'bout the pic quality again, maybe I'll put up a new picture of it later on (unlikely, yes, but perhaps) - this one carries my ogryns into battle. (meaning it hardly ever sees battle...)

And a sentinel, just for the heck of it.
