I find the Forgeworld avatar to be a jaw-dropping sculpture.  If I collected and painted miniatures any more this would be my very first purchase...

Erm, okay, reality check--it would be my first purchase once my skills were back up to par (I haven't painted in 18 years or so!).

On the scale issue, though, I was personally rather disappointed with the idea that it is so much larger than the original model, and by "original" I mean the very first avatar.  You know the one, it was about half the size again of a Marine.  Now that was the size that will always be a part of my own image/interpretation of the Eldar avatar, not this 50' tall (or whatever) monstrosity.

Small Avatars have rights too! ;)

Well, each craftworld has its own version of an avatar. Some CW maybe got a smaller fragment, other a really big chunk. Mine has wings ;D.
