Army Setup 8th Edition
« on: November 9, 2019, 08:33:46 AM »
Just to understand how army works, can i do this with my necron army in 8th edition of WH40k?

Battle Forged Army 3CP
1x Battalion Detachment +5 CP
1x Spearhead Detachment +1 CP
1x Vanguard Detachment +1 CP

Total CP that i can use in battle: 10

Now questions are:

1# Can I make one detachment of one dynasty and another detachment from another dynasty to get better dynasty bonuses on specific groups of units?

2# I have at least 3 HQ in this army. I have to select ONE OF THEM to be my general true? And i can do this even if the detachments are from different dinasties or not? Also, can i select a Sautekh dynasty warlord trait and then have 3 different dynasties in my army?

3# By the rules, can i create my own dynasty and then select the special dynasty bonuses from the one of the other dynasties?

Thanks u all.

I'm not a necron player, but I'm assumjng dynasties are just a keyword, so I would say;

#1 yes,absolutely. That is exactly the proper use of detachments

#2 yes and in fact it doesn't need to be an hq, just a character

#3 yes, you can use the rules of a single keyword and rename it to something unique. Just like marines do with successor chapters. You have to take all the rules involved with that keyword, good and bad. You can't cherry pick.

Hope that helps.
