What you'd do if you owned GW?

If you were a majority shareholder in GW what is one thing that you'd change.  This can be anything, even self serving.

Transition corporate holdings out of the UK before the Hunger Games begin. Warhammer World can stay as it could play part of a future Fallout game mod. Fallout 4 players, you know it.

Phwoah.... Good question. I'm not really much of a business man. Also... things are pretty good right now, isn't it? Lots of good licensed material, lots of activity in 40k and AoS, promise of some specialist game style WHFB revival coming, greatly improved public communication, and so on. I'm sure there's lots to stick the fingers into - but overall I don't really know.

I guess I'd chill down the Marinemania that 40k has always had. It wouldn't be a good business decision, of course, but hey, new xenos minis!

Also new Epic scale minis and Inquisitor-scale minis. Why not.

Yeah I'm not moaning or anything, things are great (apart from the lack of model releases' that aren't SM's)  I was just asking because I was thinking how good it would be if you actually owned/controlled GW.  For instance I would stop the cheese selling.  One thing I hate about GW is that in order to sell new units/models they will make them incredibly cheesy and then nerf their rules in the next edition, its why its nearly impossible for the game to have any balance.  I mean they don't have to do that, all they need to do is make the units useful and make them fill a needed role and they'd still sell like hotcakes.  But when they make so many new units cheesy then they have to nerf all the old models so that the army itself isn't super cheesy, its why we have so many units in our armies that are next to useless whether it be from inefficient points cost or just lackluster rules etc.

Ha surely there is only one correct answer to this question and that is Heroquest!

As Sir_Godspeed said though, good question and in all honesty I can't think of anything that needs changing. The fact that GW sales increased 26% in the six month period before November 2020 and they saw record sales of £186.8m means they have got things right.

I am not sure if it would be a good idea, and I think it is a geographical thing, but I would like to see the return of larger stores. One of my local GW stores used to be in a three storey building and the middle floor was full of 6'x 4' gaming tables. Due to the introduction of man one stores they moved to a one storey shop were everything is crammed into a much smaller space.

I’d finally update the imperial guard infantry ranges and plus to replace all fine cast kits still in production.

I actually I change my answer to this ^^, also I'd make plastic DKK and renegade guard.

Several years ago there was this rumor that they'd make plastic ranges that were sorta multi-purpose, so long coats for Steel Legion and Krieg, iirc, or possibly Valhallans, and parade uniforms for Praetorians and Mordians, and so on. That obviously never happened, but I like the idea, even if it wouldn't be a complete fit.

I'm biased so I just want plastic DKK.  The problem is though with updating guard is that they first have to update all the current models first before any other new guard faction, also they will no doubt update Cadians first then Catachans, then Steel Legion etc. and they are all whole armies themselves apart from the vehicles (which also need updated, the Leman Russ is so outdated).  Its going to take so long for GW to update guard as all they have really been doing with guard is releasing new models.

The leman russ got a new kit several years ago.  Do you mean the entire design itself?

I admit, plastic DKoK would be amazing.  As far as I’m concerned, they’re the most ‘guard’ guard regiment there is.  But it might be difficult.

In the truth, the entire IG faction is difficult to do, because of all the different regiments within it.   No other faction in any GW game has as wide a potential range as the IG.  And trying to reflect that in the model range would be very difficult.

Also imo the whole way the IG work is starting to become outdated.  Other factions, like the Sisters and the ‘Stealer Cults, have individual characters.  Almost all other factions do.  But IG still tout command squads.  Marines used to have them but they were then broken up into individual characters.  I think it’s time for the IG to do the same.

To stay on topic too, pushing towards all plastic factions across the board would be my main objective.  Skaven, I’m looking at you...

It may not be as old as some 2nd edition models still out there but Its a terrible model, the Alpha version on FW shows the potential of how cool it can look.

That is not a parade uniform. That is fine battle dress for gentlemen who obviously have decent manners and a proper education.  How dare you.

generate all rules for all factions.
play test the hell out of the rules.

Release the edition and codexes all one go.

New models not in the codexes will be release in WD issues.

Bring back Digital codex.
Merge digital codex, FAQ updates and new units from WD.

Point changes:
All point changes will in the same format
Unit, old points, new points
Wargear, old points, new points

More focus on the lore, expanding campaign materials to do it. I would get more non-imperial books in the BL.

migrate a bunch of forgeworld unit into standard 40k.
Use forgeworld as the alpha/beta tester for new units.

Definitely agree.  The squig gobba should be a standard plastic gitz unit now.
