The Eldar of Seachmallya "The Children of Illusion"
Physic Waves : The Fall
Seachmallya was a trading Craftworld like all other Craftworlds before the fall. They were just leaving the area that is now the Eye of Terror and were caught in a small portion of the physic wave that destroyed the once might Eldar Empire. The physic wave violently shook the Craftworld. They suffered minor casualties. Some died due to the sheer amount of power surrounding them, others that were to close to Warpgates vanished, the energy transporting then to unholy places of the warp. The wave effected the Warpgates the most unfortunately. Runes glowed dark reds and bloody colors as the raw power shifted all things connected to the Web Way. Time seemed to stop to all that witnessed these terrible things.
For days after the initial shock the Eldar of the Craftworld were still trying to grasp what had happened. The Seers were constantly meeting trying to decide what course of action would be favorable. Anarchy was every where. The Seers still met, unable to come to a conclusion that would satisfy the population. Than, with out warning the Warpgates glowed again. Physic power rushed through the Craftworld as the Dark Eldar raced through the Web Way to them. It was complete slaughter.
Anarchy continued to reign as the huge ship drifted through the stars. Eldar every where were being massacred. All they could do was hide in their own Craftworld, unable to push back the dark tide. They believed they were helpless, left only to live a life of secrecy. Thousands died each day, and any hope they had was lost.
After months of fighting a Farseer named <name> stepped forward. After planning he and the rest of the Seers decided that a push to the main Webgates would be necessary. With haste they organized an army, small it was. It took days to assemble they all, but finally they were ready. One final desperate attempt was ready to be launched.
It took many battles but finally they were able to reach several of the main chambers. The army took hold of all entrances, holding them at all costs. Hundreds of Dark Eldar raced to their position, trying desperately to overcome them. But the brave Eldar would not loose hope; it was essential for them to keep position of this place.
Farseer <name> and the rest of the Seers stood together in a circle around the Webgates. In unison they all started to chant and proclaim powerful words of closing. The runes glowed once again, only this time they glowed mighty blues and white. After minutes the Warpgates were finally starting to close. The air became heavy and humid, making it hard for the Seers to maintain their concentration.
The Dark kin started to push their way through the gates. Eldar fought on each side, giving their lives to the cause. Splinter and Shuriken fire echoed through out the chamber. Still, the chanting was louder. Screams of pain as Eldar died mixed with the cruel laughter of the enemy roared throughout the tunnels. Still, the words of the Seers were louder, not diminishing.
The battle raged on, as the last of the Eldar army was being over taken. The Dark ones, seeing the army defeated ran to the Seers position. Many of the splinter shots were deflected; an invisible shield of energy protected the Seers. Unfortunately, it could not protect the Seers from being attacked directly. The Dark ones screamed and yelled words of damnation. Some cried out as their lust for battle raged inside them. One by one the Seers began to fall. Unable to stop <name> continued on, chanting with the voice of a million souls, even though his mortal self was being cleaved and stabbed.
Just as the last Warpgate was sealed for eternity a mighty white energy illuminated the chamber, blinding all living things. The brightness burnt the eyes. Eldar and Dark Eldar shielded themselves. For what was a matter of seconds felt like hours. Then, with out warning the white light disappeared as a tremendous shock wave shook the Craftworld. All upon Seachmallya were flung into the air, being pushed away from the chamber.
Farseer <name> was the first to his feet after being blown away several feet. As he <walked> to one of the gates, he peered to see what was left of the enemy. Armor, an endless pile of empty dark armor was all that was left through out the chamber. There was no sign that any of the dark ones had survived; though many Eldar bodies were still lying where they had died. Their sacrifice was never forgotten. Soon many of his brethren were with him at the gate, in awe of what had happened. They had done it. They were saved.
The closure of the main Webgates was a substantial victory. Any Dark Eldar that had been upon the Craftworld had vanished. No one knows for sure where exactly they disappeared to, but it was common belief that they had been transported into the depths of the Warp. Soon after the battle the Seers that still lived met, and decided to depart to go close of the smaller Warpgates separately.
Almost all of the Warpgates were sealed forever. It was from here the Dark ones came, and if they closed the path from hence they poured from then perhaps no more bloodshed was needed. Each time one of the Webgates was closed it glowed, just as the main gates had. Each time one was closed it reminded the Seers of the great sacrifice their army had made to save the Craftworld from being overrun.
Unfortunately, the cost of closing many of the Warpgates was much more horrendous than first thought. With many of the Warpgates closed they were unable to contact other Craftworlds. They were left to search the abyss of space. With the limited selection of Warpgates they were also unable to reach many areas of space, many parts of space where they wished to go. With nothing to do they roamed the stars, hoping they were not the only ones left.
