Here is what I have painted.  I have a couple more devilfish, 2 broadsides, and a pile of fire warriors, gun drones, and kroot still waiting patiently.

Note to self: Don't try to photograph on a reflective surface.  Even on a non-reflective surface, the heavy coat of gloss on my tau is playing havoc with my poor camera.  Ah, well. ^^

In that case...

My favourite three Fire Warriors. The one at the back uses the vehicle commander legs; this way, I made 22 Fire Warriors (squads of 8, 8 and 6) from the Megaforce.

Another pair of vehicle commander legs. The one on the left is holding a grenade ready to toss underarm. I had to find a bunch of ways like this to make Fire Warriors seem interesting after I used up all the crouching legs :P

Making Pulse carbines cool. Oh yeah. The centre guy is my attempt at making a Tau rebreather, in an effort to give the bare heads some variety. I don't use bare heads often (and they're all in the carbine squad), so I like to customise them a bit. Also, you can see shoulder pads made from thigh armour. This is partly to give the carbine squad a 'light infantry' feel, and partly because the vehicle commanders don't have shoulder pads :P...

More carbine squad oddities. Again, trying to find interest by doing strange things.

My favourite Battlesuit, the Deathrain with flamer. He's posed to be a sort of hovering gunship. And yes, I made him with giant-robot anime in mind...

Next, my Bladeforge-5 Shas'el. Yes, I know Bladeforge is technically incorrect. But plasma means blade, fusion means forge, so I used it. I like the sound. I tried to model this one after the picture in the Codex of the suit with twin FBs, but mostly failed.

Last battlesuit - the Hailburst. I love the sheer amount of suppression fire this suit can bring. Who can resist twin gatling guns? The Stealth suit BC on his back is supposed to represent an AFP.

Stealth suits! I just loved the 'naked' BCs so much that my Shas'vre had to have one. And a little tweaking so that the other suits weren't so symmetrical. I just remembered, I still need to put their shoulder pads on :P.

Awesome conversions!

T'ros Hunter Cadre
80% painted by Blue Table Painting
20% painted by me:

I went with Blue Table for the bulk of the army for two reasons.
1) I'd rather do a great job on a few models than do a rush-job on a lot of 'em.
2) I've seen armies that look like cat vomit, and armies that look like labors of love. I wanted to see what "pro" looks like - and so far, those guys are pro.
3)  I have enough painting backlog already.  I wanted to game!

He's referring to me.  I talked to him on youtube and told him about 40Konline.

A few posts down is a 2000 point army list that I wrote.  Within that armylist is a bit of the background for the "theme" of my army.  Why arent models allowed to be pink?  Got something against that?  Maybe the few models in my army that are girls wanted pink armor!

I can see the date; but a few guys have asked again to see some Tau Colour Schemes, and some ideas on what can be done..

I tried a couple of Colour schemes...

In the end I decided to go with the White Scheme... and if your interested in trying out some digital schemes for yourself...

The WU-TANG sept commanded by Shas'el Rza allied with Cadians to take on 2 ork hordes!!!  My Mechanised force eagerly awaits the enemy!

Two brave shas'la squads were later on stomped to bloody pulps by the evil uglies :( :(

Close up view of my armour column

I will take some better photos for them soon!

You can use that to represent sms as well!  Tho that means the suit will have to be a shas el.

And that you don't bother following the codex, SMS are tank/broadside weapons, at least in my codex :)

Or if you have Imperial Armour 3: The Taros Campaign.  It's an alternate commadner suit option.

I am so glad that this was started, i really wanted to show my tau.  I just recently got into warhammer, and just finished my guard.  I painted 1 squad of pathfinders to what I think is a really good level and am now working on a kroot mercenary army I wanted the tau to look like the ones in the cities of death book

And here is my army, the Tau of the Dam'Rythe Sept. They come from a dense jungle world, so they use lots of battlesuits with a green and black camouflage. I'm a terrible painter, and I don't intend to try and improve my skills, so my army doesn't look awesome, but my simple spray everything glossy black and go over them with a wide bristly brush makes a really easy pattern. My tanks are really cool. They look like shiny black gems with green swirls on them. Also, note that the suits are actually much darker in person. The camera flash made them look so bright. One further note: I'm sure everyone will notice that I have 4 hardpoints taken up on each suit. I try to make everyone be a Shas'vre so they can take extra equipment, so technically the multitracker is HW, but I like to have it represented on the model. Anyway:

This is my second commander and his bodygaurds:

And this is my first commander with his bodygaurd:

And my regular suits:

Broadsides:

Stealth suits:

Devilfish:

and the Hammerhead:

and, if you were wondering what the first commander's bodygaurd is doing...

BOOT TO THE HEAD!

It works on almost every type of basic infantry.

Love the tank... looks like it's been splashed with paints love that effect... though i don't really like the troops i feel that there's too much green on em :), would live to see them like the tank :)

I'll post my first paint job once it's done :) might have it done tonight either way i'l post it done or not done, it's just a drone as i haven't painted in 4 years and i'm very... and i mean very rusty

Love the camo look! The contrast between the black and green is especially nice. I'd recommend thinking about some highlights for you're suits, maybe some white or something to really make them pop. Good stuff so far!

not bad with your first commander in fact i might be doing that my self

just get rid of the neon green and replace it with a darker green and it would be good
