Made some progress on the Klaivex, will probably try to clean those highlights up on the segmented armor. Still a few areas to pick out before calling him complete.

Looking good. The green arms was a bold move. Works really great on him.  8)

looks good, but I thing the green arm bands get lost with having the arms green as well. Still looks ready to open a few primaris cans ;)

Yeah, you're right about the bands - I'll have to go in and change those. Probably make it the same red as the tabard.

Thanks for the comment! Got the rest of the unit and Drazhar to paint eventually!

Thanks, Mage!

Lessons learned

- I can mix shyish purple with screamer pink and produce the same base color

- it's actually easier to use in my experience over the army painter stuff I got.

- got to be patient on the face - had an unfortunate mishap with the eyes and it went downhill lol, can only salvage what I had, but better than ruining it lol.

-The canoptek alloy over runelord brass color is basically the same pale gold all the lumineth players hate creating with dryad bark and liberator gold on the trim. - corax white on a wet pallet is basing white in easy mode

- Overall, a successful test - but there are some things I can definitely improve to make it look smoother.  :)

Its so fun when your doing something to create a color just to find out you were doing the same thing with other color techniques. Been there. I really like the look of it so far tho, good choice of a model to test on.

Thanks, Dread!

Hobby Progress!

Decided to try contrast out again for quicker basing. I have decided that I'm going to rebase the armor and undersuit as I do not like the finish as it stands, even without highlight.

DUDE! That's looking great. Love the colors. The softness is so smoothly done, you've come along way my friend. Beautiful!

Started working on my Eidolon cloak! It's themed around the Shyishan sea, touched by the essence of death magic.
