Title: magnifying glass?
Post by: magenb on May 8, 2018, 07:29:12 PM
Does anyone paint using a magnifying glass? What strength do you normally use?

Are the lamps with a magnifying glass built in any good or just more hassel?

I paint with a magnifying glass. Not really sure what the magnification is, but it's got a built-in daylight lamp and it's great. So much less eye-strain and my detail work on models got worlds better (note: it was not very good to begin with). I've enjoyed it a great deal. Not sure how necessary it is, but if you can get one cheap, you probably won't regret it.

I would say so. I don't have vast experience with the things, by any measure, but the one I have is clamped to my workbench and that's a crucial feature. I can move it around and reposition it with ease.
