that's a striking blue on the weapon shaft, is that a contrast paint over a metal? Looks sweeeet.

Talassar Blue Contrast over a layer of stormhost silver. Glad you like it :).

The game was a close one
Game looked lopsided for a good turn or so, after my akhelians wiped out both 20 man grot squads and a Mangler Squig. I feared the wandering endless spells lol, one of them imploded and did six mortal wounds to my Akhelian King, while the Mangler Squig took 2 wounds, which turned out to prove his unmaking later that round.
Also got lucky taking control of the wandering trolls that turn, which charged straight into my opponent's screening grots and clobbered quite a few of them.
Then my opponent smashed back with Gordrakk, Mangler Squig Boss, and Boingrot bounderz, and wiped out pretty much all of my akhelians.
The game would have been closer still if the objectives spawned where I was strongest lol
But the crucial objective never came my way
Eidolon was what I wanted to test, but he never got into combat that game.
Leviadon and shark did some work though, chewing through grots and mangler squig!
Also flubbed my voltaic blasts across the entire army, doing like 5 wounds in total
Spelled the end of the game, in addition to some not so great charges.

Fired up the airbrush and managed this on the eel skin of the first victim :P ;)!

More progress!

Nice! It looks like you enjoyed the game, against the nobelist, choke *cough*, little army of never hurt a fly, beings. They love their mothers and have nothing but respect, grr arrg, I can't do it. They're loathsome, caniving, dispicable but I love my night goblins. Anyhow, looks like you're getting the hang of the air brush so keep them coming.

Cool stuff; nice to see the airbrush is working out for you, that eel is looking great.

It's also nice to see a batrep with some pictures, are the units clustered together like that so they can take advantage of buff bubbles? I haven't really played AoS but I do try to wrap my head around it from time to time :)

Thanks, Dread!

So many goblins, ha-ha! Tried to fly past all that chaff, and I could have made it if I was running MSU squads, but with six man squads, just wasn't able to hit his back lines.

Thanks, Nutty!

Yeah, buffs are just as important in AoS as they are in 40k, essentially you want to keep your units around other buffing leaders and key units.

Glad you guys liked my first airbrush attempt. I learned a lot and made some mistakes too! I'm going to try blending and filtering a bit more on my next akhelian.

Also, anyone have any tricks for zenithal priming with white? I can never seem to get that stuff to come out right!

Testing out the light box!!!

Still need to make some adjustments like putting it on a raised surface, and also realigning those white panels.

Also, probably going to have to layer that airbrushed eel skin I painted last weekend, ha-ha!

It's a product from Warlord Games, got a bunch of flock and foliage from there, originally meant for the Sylvaneth.

The light box has made an unbelievable difference to your photos and everything looks really vibrant. The cloak on Eidolon is spectacular and the Isharann model looks like a different model in the improved light.

It is a real shame that the resolution is so low.

Still working on it, Alienscar :), I actually noticed that problem once I opened up the full view. I'm working on a solution!

I was initially zooming in on the camera, but I've got some alternatives to try already.

Have you got a dedicated camera for this, or are you just using a phone?

I would guess from this comment that you have a digital zoom rather than an optical zoom. Simply put digital zooms make things up and that would explain the lack of detail when trying to view a larger image.

Basically, yes, now I've increased the resolution from full HD to 1440 x 1440. I've also turned on HDR, turned off the screen optimizer, turned on "focused shot", and turned off the motion blur, etc.

So we'll see if this works. If you guys find that it is the same, I'll likely invest in a digital camera whenever the businesses come back up and running after the closings earlier in the week.

I will also try not to zoom in anymore, ha-ha.

This is probably as good as its going to get resolution wise from the phone. Let  me know if you think it's enough!

Imgur is weird. When I select one of your photo's to view it automatically opens in imgur, this picture still lacks resolution and is really blurry.

When I return to 40k the image I had selected is massive (the model fills the screen on my 10" tablet), but the definition is really good. This image can't be 'zoomed' though.

Whilst I like to zoom in when looking at painted miniatures what you have ended up with is good enough.

I will also try not to zoom in anymore, ha-ha.

Most (if not all) phone camera's have wide angle lenses. These have a good depth of field, so I would suggest you move as close to your subject as you can.

Wow, the enlarged images on here really make you realize every mistake that you have to go back and clean, ha-ha ;D. Still, most of these guys aren't finished yet, but it's actually a great way to study mistakes that you might more easily miss trying to stare at the model.

I wouldn't get too hung up on the magnified view as that is not how we see things in the real world. If you can't visually see the mistake then it is probably okay.

That said, there would appear to be a mould line on Isharann's left boot.  :D
