Will the galleries be open to add to for everyone (but perhaps that would swamp the server) or for senior members (or the like) and above only?

I'd say it's going to be like article submission. Something gets spotted, tagged and then added to the gallery.

People do abuse google earth to send hundreds of take-away meals to the victim's house. If you really wanted an exact adress beyond the town, you should PM. Usual internet safety rules apply, all 13 year old girls are FBI agents, etc.

It's funny because this sleazy guy I used to know actually learned this lesson the hard way when he sent pictures of his naughty bits to a "14 year old girl" who was actually a Bergen County official.  No one's surprised though.  I used to run a youth theater group that was mostly teenage girls.  Some of the ones I kept in touch with are now 19 so I can say they are some attractive women, but back when they were 15 and Mr. Sleaze was 20 he was seriously coming onto them.  I love it when bad things happen to bad people...and it's even more interesting to consider he's the second one to have an accusation from the same small town in a year.  The first one turned up to be a lie as the girl who accused him said it happened when she was 3 months old so that got thrown out, but our favorite sleaze is going to have some trouble denying the e-mails and pictures he sent to the cop.

Back on topic though, I think by now most of us should know to not do something completly stupid while out wandering the tubes here.  Oh and for the record, when I said mine was on my store, I meant just that...not my LGS but MY store.  I sell 40K goodies in my video game/hobby store.  I'm expecting my weekly box of goodies from GW today actually.

Thats when someone lurking finds this thread, logs in for the sole purpose of the map, and finds out where you live. Paranoid? Yes, but thtas why I just put my marker generically over the area I live in.

Oh please, the odds are ridiculously small of some one finding this forum by chance. Creating an account just to get access to the member map and then pick me out of the 31521 members and then come to my home to do... What is he going to do exactly?

Besides there are 40 apartments in my building so I doubt they would find me any way.

I'd be more worried that someone would pass by, select my building at random, and burn it down.

Exactly.  It was a sting and good for Bergen County to get those people off the streets before they can do something.

Once again returning to the topic...anyone else amused that almost every pin is blue?  Not so much for the fact thgat this is indeed a mostly male hobby (our first female player in my store tries her army out for the first time Saturday) as it is female members just choosing not to mention that they are female.  As an intro thread a few weeks ago showed, there are a few people that get "over-eager" once they discover that somewhere someone on this board might have boobies somewhere in the vicinity of their keyboard while posting here.  To quote Kevin Smith regarding a girl working in a British Comic shop-"'She's one of them...Nigel what do you call them?' 'ladies.'  'YES!  She's one of them ladies'"

Zoom in. In the states, there are about 4 in my tri-state area, plus about a dozen more in the eastern US.

You have to go down to the very bottom of the page after placing it and click on the button that saves/updates your profile.

That's actually awesome, in a kinda scary way.  Think I'll throw my store location up instead.  Not that there's any other Tasmanian's on there anyway, but if one of the Melbournians (or someone from further away) comes down for a visit they'll know where to find me.

As I am, or the lack thereoff.

Seems that the satellite pictures have been made somewhere in late Spring/Summer 2007 as my own house wasn't built yet - but my neighbour's was. I shall do as many does and put the pin in the town's center: paranoia is a healthy trait.

But all in all, it is nice to see that Kindred is getting through the update(s), thanks dude for the time you put in there.
