The Staff have talked about this quite a few times.

It wouldn't speed up anything, and it would take up a lot of time, not to mention the fact that a people sign in, leave for yoinks and then come back and start posting.

However, it does also mean a lot of names are used up...

Either way, its not really a big issue right now, and in theory, it should never be.

Well if you want you could PM a global/admin and see if they could free up that name for you. That's what I did when Yoda was taken... Though they may not appreciate thousands of requests. :P

Hi, a little of topic, this is actually my very first post to these forums ( :o ) but I've been a registered user for about 6 months i think  :P
I never post anything, I just read what other people post  ;D Was just wondering, if you decide to remove the static "non-posters" would people like me be removed aswell?

Hmm I havent noticed a thing about the spam till now. Yet I think you can bumb it up to at least 100 posts. People who are out there to spam around won't hit the 100 posts before being not noticed by the staff and banned.

Aside of that, why would you need to PM if you have around 59 posts orso? Once you posted around 200-300 posts you notice that you might like some people because their attitude towards you, or they are always helpfull. I regulary PM Ollieb with problems, as I have seen him posting over 2 years on LO and 40ko. I dont think that spammers would give a darn about others on this board, and thus they won't take the effort to make more then 100 posts in order to spam others with PM's including weird photo's or the like.

Besides, 100 posts aint that much. 40ko is addictive, once you participate in several topics [serious topics about your army and the like] you quickly start hitting the 25/50/75 with ease. I used to post around 8 posts a day. Heck I think I post even more the 8 nowadays when I have the time.

I'm sorry, but 100 posts is way too much. What happens if someone starts sending abusuive PMs to the member, or wants to contact someone. Think about it. If you had 78 posts and I said 'look man don't duble post' and you couldn't ask what I meant it might get you a bit annoyed. BEsides it took me 6 months to get 100 posts, but then again I didn't spam. If you were determined enough you'd do it anyway.

Traders need PM to control their deals and contacts. Requiring 100 posts puts a serious burden on those who wish to exclusively trade.

This is REALLY not a big deal people.  It's been done, I've yet to hear any real complaints.  there have been no more mass spam PMs.  I think we're in the clear.

Heres an example of why (because it's me). I registered, made three posts (one DE army list and a responce or two) then didn't do anything with my account for years until I logged back on specificly send a PM to a guy I know IRL who wanted a copy of my army list for a battle report he was writing. Then I crusied by the rules forum and laid the smach down on a moderator and stayed forever - but thats another story. So you're wrong.

Point is that if they're a real person they should get to use the PMs, a bot should not which is all the difference that is needed. If a real person starts being stupid undoubtly they'll be reported and banned; thats why we have 'report post' buttons.

Edit: I didn't get any porn either, I feel somewhat sortchanged. At least it may have spiced up my day...

It was Asian porn and it was very photo shopped pictures of Goyder too. I kid but it was horrible. To remind you all it came via PM and the guys posted on almost every forum with his gay tyranny. Yeah it WAS mad gay.

And yes, that picture was horrid. Those who never saw dick nor hair of it were lucky.
