Holy cow! Can't believe it. Years ago I searched the webs for an Eldar site and discovered Eldaronline.com. it was so fantastic. I joined and posted like crazy, pictures were harder to post back then but I learned a lot from the community. Them a few years went by and some jerk wrecked the site :( but the brilliant people of that site didn't want it to die so they created this fine site for all to discuss our wonderful games and hobbies. So 40konline.com was born. I hadn't realized it until one of the guys sent me an email and got me back on here. I have enjoyed contributing to the site with my little bits of knowledge and made a few friends here that I just really look forward to visiting with and can't wait to see their posts everyday and try to help when others need advice or the such. Here is a pic of my first avatar, farseer and warlock from all those years ago. You can tell by the paint jobs they were done many years ago.

I felt it was right to do this post here in the Eldar forum for respect to our moderators and fellow posters.

That is crazy! For as long as I have been coming here there has been posts by Dread, some of them have even made sense ;D
Doesn't seem like a day goes by without a Dread post, so I am surprised that you have only just hit 2000.
I think your pictures show what an excellent painter you are. For something that is probably over ten years old the models look great and the Avatar in particular looks modern in its painting style.

It's a good feeling!
I'v been away from the 40k online community for quite a few years, but I still remember when I first joined in 2008-9 after reading The Rise to Power? here on the fiction thread. I cannot remember who wrote it (a part of me wants to say Partninja), but I thought it was brilliant and it convinced to me actually try my hand at writing and story telling for the first time.
I've met countless great people here, and I'm also looking forward to what the future holds for us :).

As for your first painted models... you have blending, edge highlights, free handed holofields, waaay more adventurous and better than my first attempts and none of the handy tools we have now like online tutorials and washes :)

I may not post a bunch but I do lurk in other sections of the site, if I come up with something I can help with, I try to show ways or builds. I always try to be as constructive as possible.
Man I need a game....thinking about trying a eldar and DE mix for my first game back....whenever that happens.

Just checking Dread, but are you aware that you actually had 2060 posts against you when you made this post? Don’t know if you know, but any posts you make in the Tavern and Tavern games don't get added to your post count.
