such a great looking model, was looking at it for a conversion. Is the head a separate bit?

Hey Mage,

So the Stonemage's head comes in three different pieces.

The face itself is attached to the front of the body.

The horns and the braid are together on a separate piece.

The face plate is a separate piece that goes over the head once the other pieces are joined.

Looking good, so smooth. They're gonna look great.

looking good.

I found nulon oil and agrax are too dark for trying to shade white, but the contrast white does the job nicely. I found it works best if you paint it into the corners when you have a large area like the horses armour.

Are you spraying or painting with a brush? The smoothness is remarkable and looks great.

To be honest I can't see much difference between stage 2 and 3.

Thanks, guys!

@Magenb: I did that after I highlighted everything back up with a layer of corax white + ulthuan grey  ;) :P.

To be honest I can't see much difference between stage 2 and 3.

Believe it or not, it's by brush:

Corax white + mixing balls + wet pallete + lhamian medium = pretty thinned.

Primer = wraithbone

Brush = small drybrush, though don't drybrush it on.

So Stage 3 is a subtle highlight of corax white + ulthuan grey to highlight all of the armor on the rider and mount. It's not going to look too different from stage 2 in the photos, unfortunately. It's basically stage 2 cleaned quite a bit.

Thank you, Dread! I am humbled by your inspiration :).

As for the terrain pieces, they come with the model itself :).

If you aren't asking about Jain Zar's base I would guess that the terrain pieces are the Lumineth endless spell Sanctum of Amyntok.

@Magenb, that particular stoneguard is actually modeled that way ;D.

I also have some howling banshees on the way, 2 kits of them actually.

I plan to paint about 5-10 Lumineth models, then I'll switch over to an eldar kit, paint that, then revolve back to Lumienth. At least that's the plan!
