looking good so far.

Did you get any of the colorshift paints from GSW?

I wish they had a local distributor down here, so many nice products, but its just super expensive importing them.

Thanks, Mage!

So I purchased another airbrush and a compressor today, especially as my current compressor did not perform that great. I think it was because I had to some jank stuff to make my previous badger airbrushes compatible and what not.

In any case, the new one I'm getting has some extra features I can use. I also bought a GMAC thingy? You can change the PSI at the airbrush rather than the compressor. Lastly, I bought a cleaning kit.

So I really like the Greenstuff paints, but I don't think I'll be converting over to their full line. I'm just going to pick up some of their special stuff every now again, like their candy inks and colorshift stuff.

So that leaves me in a conundrum of what paint line I want to use. Citadel air is pretty pricey per bottle. I may look into the vallejo game air line I think.

I got a new airbrush myself a few weeks ago and just love it. As for the paints, can't really coach you there, I use cheap hobby paints like Delta waterbased, have for years. Cetaon colors, like turbo dork has, I'll spend a few bucks to have but no expensive line. Good luck with everything.

I think the light blue on the trim is a nicer balance than the green. Are you going to go with a pale skin for the namarti's?

Thanks, Mage! Yes, I'll continue my scheme with my recipe for Reaver skin like on the previous Reavers' I've done!

Thanks, Dread! I actually learned some important lessons on why my previous airbrushes went defunct. Turns out I made a couple of crucial mistakes! Also I think that the airbrush that I'm using will be more suitable for miniature painting than the badger brushes. It's more compatible, and it seems like it's hard to tell which badger brushes are suitable for miniature painting.

Looks like you've been keeping busy :)

Cool stuff allround; I'm looking forward to seeing what you do with the airbrush.

Thanks, Mage!

I figured it would be a unique look rather than the oceanic / sea bases. And you know what? It does look way better than I thought it would!

So tried using some of the greenstuffworld metallics with some impatience and turned a pretty easy paint job into a nightmare. He's still not completed yet, but I think he's been salvaged lol.

the bases look great; how is the metallic paint making things more difficult?

it's looking good, I don't see anything jump out with the metal parts. What was happening?

Hi guys, thanks!

So, some of the Greenstuff world metallics are just going on weird, where I've never had the issue before with GW ones (at least not to this extent). One of them just goes really bad, I think it might just be an old pot of paint. It's really residue-like and does not layer or dry well. That and I was being impatient a bit with the layering  :P.

Best guess based on what you've said, is the paints in dropper bottles tend to be thinner than GW pots, if they have been sitting around for a long time then they'll need a really good long shake. Google Vortex paint shaker and save your arm lol.

It could just be the paint, like most whites really need very thin layers and you have to wait for each one to dry completely or it will streak or tear. Some of GW "layer" metal paints fall into both of these conditions, stormhost silver in particular.
