The Tariff Fleet makes planetfall!
( Forward scouts report massive numbers of incredibly scary types in every direction, including those rigid and grumpy
space-marines. This could get ugly.)
Okay, here are four pictures of the work in progress, preceded by a wrenching confession, which begins here:
- this is my first contest on these boards, and, ignorant of the rules, I screwed up. When I signed up for the contest, I had just begun converting the Tariff fleet, and didn't think to hold off until the 'official' start date. This means I've been converting since
November 20th or so, when, apparently, I shouldn't have been. If this means I can't compete, I accept that, or, more happily,
if there's an increase in the total points I need to convert to compete, I'd gratefully accept that. Either way, I'll still be converting the army, and would like to post here to share in the experience.
On to less embarrassing stuff ; photos, poorly taken:
First Ogryn - will stand in for tyranid warrior with devourer and scything talons - chain-cleaver to be added.
Second Ogryn, chain-cleaver will replace sword, same weapon as above.
Third Ogryn, again, still doesn't have his cleaver, armed with venom cannon eq.
First infantry squad, will be replacing oh-so-squishy gaunts. Devourers and extended carapace, topped off with fleshhooks.
This model will stand in either for a carnifex or a hive tyrant, on a suitably enlarged base..with a large chainsword, powerfist on trailing hand, beefed up armor, et
That's about where I'm at. Hopefully, I'll be starting work on my Ravener-standins soon...cavalry on mini-sentinels, with lances and sabers..which could wind up being fairly cool or monumentally stupid. Here's hoping.
Happy modeling, everyone.
