seer council(what to do?)
« on: March 3, 2003, 10:24:19 AM »
in my 1500pt army list i have a seer council with 2 farseers and 3 warlocks. the farseers have got cc w's, pistol, mindwar+guide. i don't know what powers for my warlocks to have, as conceal is useless for seer council, they are NOT designed for cc so enhance is not really an option and 1 warlock already has embolden?? what can i do??

You don't +have+ to give the warlocks any powers.

WHAT?! The seer council isn't made for CC??  Givin the right equipment, such as witchblades and Enhance, the seer council can be quite good in CC.
Long Live the Guardians!!! <-- i know its a contradiction :)

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!! BLASPHEMY!!

WS of 6/5. High intiative. Wound on 2+. High S/T (for eldar) Ghosthelm reduces daemons WS 1/2. Base 2 attacks. Re-roll armour saves.

Against a daemon prince, they wound 2+ and hit 2+ with 2 attacks a piece. While little daemon boy will be hitting on 5+.
Fear my wraithsighted Rangers for they have unlimited aim and are lead by a Warlock with guide! Fear my Deep Strike skills for they need not scatter dice! Fear my Banshees for they indeed stole your Swooping Hawk wings! Fear my Guardians for their skill and power in combat is unmatched! Fear me for I know not what a Codex is!

Little Daemon Boy?  Have you SEEN the new model?  It is in no way little.  Paint it right, it's down right intimidating.

And why are you throwing a Seer Council at a Daemon Prince?  Lets, see.... They have at most 2 attacks (unless charging), and the Daemon WILL get his 2+ save (most Daemon's are given this upgrade).  It just so happens Daemon's can get dreadaxes!  Re-rolling your saves will get you....... nowhere.
Ghosthelm's are great and all....

But the Daemon is still hitting on a 4+ (5+? where'd that come from), wounding on at least a 3+ if not a 2+ (if its got daemonic stature and strength), and if it's a slaanesh daemon, then your in trouble, because its going to be getting shot up on drugs and lowering your initiative.

I don't deny that in some situations, the seer council can be good, if not great in close combat!  However, throwing them against a Daemon Prince (who is likely to be somewhere around 20-50 points cheaper than your council, when he is fully pimped) that will chop the council down, is not one of them.

Now, the ghosthelms and HtH council should do fine against the smaller daemons, especially now that their invulnerable save CAN be rerolled.

It is not in the Eldar Codex, and by the copyright rules, I don't believe we'er allowed to say.

The rules for the Witchblade are in the BBB.

Of course Witchblades are in the codex.  They're in the wargear section immediately after "Web of Skulls".

Of course, now Bainer is going to ask "What does Web of Skulls do?"...
They say all is fair in love and war, but the love is better because then the Geneva Convention doesn't prevent you from using nerve gas.

they are one handed singing spears rules wise

so you can get an extra attack with another hand weapon

against vehicles, they hit like a lascannon

against models with a tougness, they cause an effect similar to a poison attack (like dark eldar knives)
