The 40kOnline Forum Awards: Master Debater Nominations
« on: January 20, 2011, 09:58:28 PM »
The 40kOnline Forum Awards 2010.

See the above for the rules and specifics of the Forum Awards, and use the linked thread for general questions.

Make your nominations for the Master Debater here in this thread or through PMing me (though clearly title it so I can easily tell what it's about). The only limit is that you can not nominate the previous winner, which was in this case was IainC. You can only nominate a single person for an award, but there is no limit to how many awards you can nominate someone for (whether the same member or a different one).

Oh, and people, please remember to use full usernames or link to the profile as I don't know every member of this site's nickname/acronym/shorthand/etc. etc. etc.

Nominations
  • Dipsomaniac (5)
  • Godofsmallthingys (1)
  • BunniRabbi (1)
  • augustmanifesto likes naked power (1)

I nominated Dipsomaniac.

He / she has good arguments, never back away and always has good answers.

Who is currently known as Godofsmallthingys (just to help Makenshi out when tallying the nominations).

I'll second the nomination of Rummy (Dipsomaniac).

Fortunately I'm familar with that name change and even remember when he originally went by that name ages back. Still thanks for the thought :).

I too nominate Rummy (Dipsomaniac). He consistently debates well with a well informed view, presents evidence and can admit when he is wrong. Most importantly he never browbeats or bullies others. (One of my fav mods too).

   I vote for Dipsomaniac.   :)
He is to the point, not trying to wow us with tons of filibustering. He takes a respectful approach, and does not (or at least does not appear) to try and insult people.  He also seems willing to pay attention and learn, and not argue just to argue.  He comes at a Discussion with a lot of common sense, which seems to be missing from time to time with others.  ;)

I'll pick BunniRabbi, the reason I read the Religion and Spirituality thread long after others threaten to make it stale.

In any situation, the best thing you can do is the right thing. The next best thing you can do is the wrong thing. The worst thing you can do is nothing.
I'm a middle of the road sort of guy, so usually option 2.

For the crowd that's been around enough this year to qualify, Rummy is my choice. We had a good go on nuclear weapons/japan, iirc.

Not Here...
So maybe nowhere near.
Maybe the Emp was further away than Biff could imagine. And even more mega.

I remember that one, same as the recent China thread we circled each other with daggers drawn yet no mortal blood drawn in the end. Always good to have someone keep you honest.

Being that this is the Discussion Board and dissenting opinions are required rather than suffered, I hereby nominate you in return so that others may vote in the end.  :)
