If you really want the 2 plasma guns you have to choose whether you want them twin linked or not. If not, then you need to pay separately for each weapon, plus a multi-tracker. If so, then just get rid of the multi-tracker in your above configuration because it isn't doing anything.

Is that true?  If you have a Multi-tracker, a Missile Pod, and a Plasma Rifle you can: 1. Fire the Missile Pod twice (giving you 4 shots). 2. Fire the Plasma Rifle twice (giving you 2 shots). 3. Fire the Plasma Rifle once and the Missile Pod once (giving you 1 Plasma Shot and 2 Missile Shots).  Is that true that you can allow one weapon say the Missile Pod to be fired twice with a multi-tracker giving you 4 Str.7 AP. 4 shots?

No....

You can only fire 1 weapon one time.

And you can't have TWO plasmaguns unless they are twin-linked.

Bummer. I wonder what the reasoning behind that limitation was. I mean, if you have the extra weapon (excluding flamers of course) and you pay the points for two single weapons and a multi-tracker, why not let the suit have that setup? Too many kool attacks I guess  8)

Where in the codex does it say you can't have two plasmaguns unless they are twinlinked?

And are you saying that it applies to all weapons too?  as in you can't have two burstcannons,  or two fusion blasters, or two missile pods?

It say so on page 17 under Battlesuit weapons.

You can't have two weapons of the same type unless they are twin linked. And can never have 3 weapons of the same type.

And under the Multi tracker(page 18) it says that it enables you to fire two weapon systems in the same turn and that firewarriors would gain no benefit as they can't carry two weapons.

Hence...you can only fire 1 weapon one time and if you have a multitracker and two weapons you can fire them. But since the two weapons counts as a single twin-linked one you can still never have two plasmaguns but only 1 twin-linked one.

Well my take on it wasn't the Shas'o, but the Shas'el.  Being 25 points cheaper, I can give him a twinlined weapon cheaper than the BS 5 upgrade would be (at 25 points).  And Twinlined BS 4 is better than a single shot BS 5 anyway.  Plus, with three Harwired options, he's got them to spare unless I'm getting silly with the points.  As an example:

Shas'el                   Shas'vre                  shas'vre
Twinlined Fusion  Twinlinked Fusion  Fusion Gun
Plasma                   Plasma                     Plasma
Hard Multitracker Hard Multitracker   Multitracker
Hard Target Lock                                    Hard Target Lock
Hard Drone Ctrlr

Traditional wisdom would seem to be take a Shas'o instead of a Shas'el, but like I said this is a cheaper option.  It also gives one of the Shas'vre an increased chance to hit with that single shot weapon-of-goodness.  The BIG thing different is usually I'd be taking a drone controller on that first Shas'vre, and a shield generator on the Shas'el.  So it's a trade off of survivability for firepower.

Which is the real question here, now that I'm sure it's legal.  Exactly HOW survivable do they need to be?  And how much difference does the extra firepower make?

I suppose playtesting is in order.

The problem with the hardwired stuff is that it's more expensive.....so your tradeoff will leave you with a LESS powerful character who costs more. The hardwired Multi-tracker for example costs 5 points more than the Battlesuit version.
All this means that the Shas'o is more accurate with his secondary weapon(in your case the plasma gun), within a fraction as accurate with his Fusiongun and has 1 more WS, Wound, Attack and Ld for just 12 points. And that is a bargain!

The Shas'el is only a more attractive option if you are using a small army and a low profile equipment list.

Just take a Battlesuit that is not really that tricked out but still dangerous.  Mine: Shas'o w/Fusion Blaster, Missile Pod, Shield Generator, 2 Gun Drones.  The Fusion Blaster can handle tanks and heavily armed infantry, the Missile Pod has the same stats as an Autocannon! but is assault 2  ;D, the Shield Generator for some protection for your investment, and some Gun Drones for some more firepower and protection.
