No we do not all gang up on him mr eldar player. we are better than that. Also i play him all the time he insults my dark angles i insult his army but only in the spirit of banter sheesh.
Dire avengers, fire dragons, Howling Banshees, Striking scorpions. the dammed Autarch has a shining spear the s6 power weapon. Also this dude is incredibly lucky and the 5+ cover save makes a difference when it comes to the fact that they should already be dead. Like i said i have already posted my army list on a thread.
Insulting each others' armies is good, makes you laugh and gets the whole thing off with a laugh or two....keep it up.
Ok, one at a time.
If he has an Autarch and an Avatar, then he has no Farseer. This is good for you as you will not be facing doom, mindwar or eldritch Storm. He will not be able to cast guide or fortune upon himself, and more importantly, his Avatar......without fortune, Avatars die easily mate.
Marines ought to beat DA, period. You have 6" more range with bolters and close up, you will win. Str3, toughness3 and save of 4+ is not good.
Firedragons are only good as offensive transported units. Take down the transport and the Dragons are useless. When they get out, shoot them up or c.c. them.....
Banshees have toughness3, save of 4+......shoot em.....again, this may require shooting-up a transport.
Scorps are a little more tricky since they do not need a transport and can infiltrate. But they have to leave cover eventually, and when they do hit em with guns, then assault.
Shining Spear Autarchs have no hit and run unless they are accompanied by the exarch....that means he is hitting with a str of 3 and no power weapon ability in subsequent rounds.....he will be tied into the combat too and ought to die by the second round of an assault. If he is part of a Spears unit with an Exarch, well, that's tough. Thay'll hit really hard and then bugger off and do it all over again.....but remember, even on bikes, they are only tougness4, save 3+....just like killing marines......
Prisms are merely AV12.......hit them about 4 or 5 times and you will acheive a result. Even if the result is only shaken, then that's good because they are not shooting, and shooting is what they are there for. A single prism versus marines is not too handy, they need to combine beams to gain killing AP.....so a single shaken result buys you time and gets you closer to the win.
Your marines advance into the teeth of the Prism fire, with nothing but singed paint on their ceramite....
Combining shooting helps against Eldar too....we like to pick our fights and love spaced-out units and formations. If you keep some of them together, they will deter open assault, and what firepower you own will be massed.
Hope some of that helps,
