mix a metal and a green? Not sure about mixing with non-metals, but I got fine results mixing two metals together.

Base coat of metalic colour with green wash over it?

There's a good example of this on the Dakka fourm topic: Painting Experiment: The Green Knight

Pictures are included showing the progress of the work.

Besides what was mentioned above You can use acrylic interference green paint from Golden or liquitex over some dark background.
Interference paints are available from any decent art store. Just ask them for interference paints.

Hey Wobz,

I made a metallic green color by mixing the Chainmail, and Dark Angels Green GW paints. Just make sure you get the right consistency to mix the metal flakes in with the green well enough.

Here's a link to what the model looked like once I painted it on.

Hope that helps!

if you want it dark, boltgun + green wash (never remember the name of it)
if you want it lighter, Mithril silver + green wash

looks awesome! Since the wash pools, the highest points get barely any (if any at all) colouring, so it gives even more of a shiny metalic look.

Or if your feelin really crazy mix some green ink into some metalic paint.  Never tried it, just thought of it now and have no idea if it will work or just blow up in your face.
