(no, not avoiding the profanity filter, borrowing language from Knights of the Dinner Table)

Been trying to get an article (with helpful images) up, but the interface is making me want to tear my hair out. I have multiple images uploaded/attached, and I'd like to figure out how to incorporate them into the text. As they are, thumbnail-sized, they are less than useless, especially as one of them is a wiring diagram.

Does anyone know the proper incantations so that I may assuage that system's Machine Spriit?

My suggestion would be to upload the images to Photbucket, Flickr, or a similar online photo storage service, and then link to your pictures that way.  In other words you would use the following code:

This would give you better results, based on how well it's worked when others have tried it for their articles.

attached images get attached... but not "inline"

Photobucket is a good choice...

I am not sure if the media tags for our gallery work in the articles, but you can try that too...

edit, just checked and yes...   the media upload and SMG BBC tags work just fine from inside the articles.

Could a preview link be added? It'd be nice/better if the article input interface looked as much like the forum interface.

I'm not sure what you mean by a preview.  Do you mean the ability to see your article after you've submitted it, but before it has been approved?  If so, then I think that regular users can still do this by way of the my articles tab.
