Title: The good and bad list
Post by: Rasmus on August 2, 2005, 10:40:56 AM
This list is no longer in actice use. New references are posted here (http://www.40konline.com/index.php?topic=178076.0) instead. This thread is merely a reference now.

Please also note that traders might be on both the good list, AND the bad list.

This is something that I've been wanting to do for a while.
There is nothing that we can do to make trading safer for you.
Although there is risk involved I have never had a problem with anyone. But I have heard horror stories and actually have a few pleasent surprises myself.
so this thread is for people who have been burned by someone (especially of that some one is still hanging around and trading with others) also if you have traded with someone and they sent you extra guys or an exceptionally well painted model and you just want to give a  hey thanks in a public way..... here's your chance.

Now this could very well back fire on me so I want you to remember before you post no flaming and no cursing.
Also no urban legends .... if it didn't happen to you it didn't happen. ;)

The old list (found here (http://www.40konline.com/index.php/topic,78820.0.html)) needed a bit of a facelift, so here it is.

In an effort to be a helpful moderator I have compiled the first thread into this reference-thread. If a person is not mentioned in this index there is no point in going through the first ten pages looking for him/her/it.

Some notes here are conflicting, such as being mentioned in both good and bad, but I am not settling that; I am just reporting it as it has been posted, unless recanted later in the thread.
I will update the list as each page of the thread fills with new posts on transaction gone well or awry.
Edit: *sigh* Ok... In order to get things on this list you have to post a post in this thread. I will update the list accordingly, but it is your post that is important. If you later delete your post I will be forced to remove that entry from the list as well.

Hey Rasmus, got a few things for you...

> I don't know if you know, but I was once "The Unseen" in the 'Good and Bad list' my name is in as
"The Unseen" so if you could change it to "FrOzEn" unless that would confuse people... but I think most people looking at that would like to know the current name of the person they're dealing with... Just a thought-

>I have completed 1 trade, and currently nearing completion of a 2nd trade with "carloman" as he has been prompt and fair in his dealings with me, if you could put him on that list (or add my name to his referencers?) I'd be much obliged, as would he.

>Also, please add me to the referencer of Ronfarious... he was a good trader.

>Also add me for "Canadian_Army" he traded with me a while back and I had not properly reported this... he was an excellent trader as well.

>And lastly, Keep up the good work!

Jonik was great too. Communications are th emost important thing and he communicated very well.

I just want to give people the heads-up on ADAMANT. Be very cautious if you deal with him ,and never send first. He made a deal wih me,but has not responded any of my messages for 10+ days now.
I'm calling the deal off, I wasted enough time with this guy.

Post by: Pyro_00001 on August 21, 2005, 03:07:52 PM
I had a large deal ($400) with Ranger Astheria about a month ago.

He was a great trader, everything was packaged well and shipped on time. He even threw in extera stuff.

Jonik (again) is a good trader, he sent stuff quickly and didn't mind too much when I forgot his Balrog's tail ;)
Title: Re: The good and bad list
Post by: Jonik on August 25, 2005, 04:10:50 PM
Yoda was a great trader bar the whole forgetting the tail incident. But he's sending it free of charge to me, along with a very cheap (1/3 of the original price) model that I was going to get too.

EDIT

Hang-on. I can edit this now. heh.

Ok I've added them in.

The post here is important though, not just the list. The list is just an index of sorts.
And please, don't edit the list unless you edit in all the mentions of the entire page. I was waiting for a page or two to fill before working it over.

Speed (http://www.40konline.com/index.php?action=profile;u=29446) sent me well-packaged terminators for some cash. Worked well.

Targetawg is a great trader.  Models were extremely well packaged and arrived within a week.

Fishley is a great trader as well, included extra bits and such, yet saddly I made him wait longer than I should have, do to my work schedule.

mrspungebob bought several nids from me via paypal which worked out great, and we are currently in a model swap, as soon as that is completed I'll update this post.

Legacy40k is a great trader, the models were well packaged and arrived quickly.  A++ trader.

I just want to take the time to mention that my purchase from Speed went extremely well. We communicated a lot during the transaction, the minis were very well packaged and he sent it on a Monday and got it Friday of that same week. Overseas from the UK to Canada! Everything was in great shape when I got it too. I look forward to maybe getting some other minis from Speed. He's one of the guys that is a credit to the Trading Post here.

Thanks again Speed (Mark)!

List updated with the first page of posts. I hope that the inconvenience of reading the list and one page of posts is not too much for you guys, but it just keeps things easier to moderate that way. :)

Keep those recommendations/warnings coming!

It's great Rasmus, thanks very much. It was because of your recommendation that I traded with Speed and I was glad that I did. It's nice to have the needed info in one list rather than scouring through tons of posts to find out about someone.  :)

Chaplain Ventris Master of Blades is a bad trader. Despite him having two successful trades, these do not erase the bad one he had with me. What he sent was NOT what he said he would send. Condition was horrible, and what he sent was not NEARLY enough to cover what I was sending him. I sent him a 2200pt Necron army, he sent me less than 1000pts of orks. He then promised me he would send more miniatures, and I accepted that condition. Since them, he has said he would and HAS sent them three times, yet each time refuses to get tracking AND they have never arrived. Do not trade with him. I lost $500+ worth of miniatures because of his immaturity and unwillingness to co-operate. Do NOT make the same mistake. If you need more information please contact me.

I've just finished my transaction with ollieb over the down time 40Konline just had, and it went smoothly. He's a very nice & fair trader. I highly recommend him.

I have to say the same for clestial.dragon save one minor problem.  We each kept coming up with minis the other guy wanted and the trade list grew.  We were almost to the point where it would have been easier to move to each other's house rather than send packages.   :D

There was never any discussion about who sends first and I never doubted his integrity to complete the deal.  We completed the deal and the packages were on the way.  I'd trade with him again and may have to in order to get the rest of what I wanted.

Thanks for the kudos.

My trade with Striking was a great one. He didn't have any kind of feedback when he began his trading career, which made me a bit leery (as it does us all). To his credit, he offered to send first as an act of good faith. His items were received by me in good condition, then I sent his by way of FedEx.

All in all, I have to say this was a very positive experience due to good communication, expidient shipping, and I did get what was promised. Striking comes Highly recommended by me.

Would trade again.

Also, Kolonel Leninvik wants to have trades in under the name Lord epistolary kashak. See, the evils of name-changes. :)

Well its been 2 months+ since I posted a money order (which was cashed) to Ghost Construct (Evan Elliot). I have tried numerous PM's (no reply) to contact him as well as e-mails (returned); therefore at this point I am officially stating that I will no longer do business with him as he is unreliable.

Ghost Construct -aka- Evan Elliot is a bad trader.

Thank god this was not a large purchase on my part, $35.00 US + Fees for money order.

Cheers and Happy gaming to all of you "Good Traders"

Where does he live?  Perhaps there is someone elso on the boards that can give him a call to find out what the problem is.

Good point there Ollied, here is the data I have (from him).

Ghost Construct,
evan elliott

olympia WA 98506

He also told me (in e-mails) that he was in the military and that he was getting married. So if he has simply forgotten (busy life, newlyweds, work etc.) about our trade and wishes to complete our transaction, I would like to clear this whole thing up.

Any assistance finding this person would be appreciated.

Cheers and Happy gaming.

I also had dealings with him and thought maybe he had backed out when he stopped responding.  Luckily I was making sure by going the paypal route.  After he gave me a paypal account, and then failed to respond to an email sent to said account to verify that it was correct.  A few days later he asked me why I hadn't responded, and when I mentioned sending the email I no longer got any response.  Like I said ealier I merely thought he had backed out.

There is a possibility that something has happened (since he hasn't logged in since January 15th), but he may have just got what he wanted and left.  Although the fact that he cashed the money order without returning to the site makes me feel that it is probably the latter.

So  I can't add anything from his side of the offer since, I regularly trim my outdated pms in my inbox, but I have my side of our conversations in my outbox if anybody is interested.  To sum them up, the first few are us hammering out the deal, then me asking him to provide some sort of feedback, him claiming to be a registered paypal user, and me telling him the reason I haven't done anything on paypal is because I was waiting for him to respond to the email from his paypal account.  (this was sent on the 12th, and  After that contact was ceased.)  Between another trade which the person got confused about packages he received (luckily I always use Delilvery confirmation.) and the site revamps (which caused me a lot of guilt during my first trade with celestial.dragon ) I forgot all about him about about a week.

I never actually sent anything, so filing wouldn't do much for me.  He just ceased contact right before I did, I guess he realized I knew enough about paypal to get my money back, if he couldn't provide proof he shipped (as in delivery confirmation number.).

I'm calling shenanigans on theriddles.

In May we agreed to trade my 10 sets of storm guardian weapons + some extra special weapons for a Ra model he claimed to have. I shipped my side immediately, but he later claimed that there was a delay in shipping my model, and that he shipped it the Saturday before that particular replay (May 27).

I have not received the model he promised.

What makes me certain that there is something wrong is that he claims to not have received my package either. I have been trading on Warhammer boards for two years now, and I have never had any problems with lost packages, so I find it strange that both our packages simutaniously disappeared. I even sell on ebay, and nothing wrong has happened yet except for a model damaged during shipping, which I replaced. Add to this his lack of feedback here, and the fact that he's making an army with 120 guardians (see his signature), and you'll see why I'm a little upset.

Terrell78 is a good trader. even thought the ship took 3 weeks it wasn't his fault. Blame the Canadian customs officers and their tight security and wanting money off me  :)

a quick reply to celestial's call on shenanigans. i never recieved the bits he sent through to me. obviously i can have no proof of this just as he has no proof of not recieving my ra. but i know he's a good trader so i'm trusting this as a bad mixup.

as to my signature, it's a theoretical point. i would never use an army with 120 guardians as i am far too lazy to paint them all.

OK.

During the last two months both of the packages I was suppose to receive from members of this board who live in the UK have simply disappeared. The first package was from theriddles, and the second was from Seer in the Dark.

Since I've successfully received two other packages in the same time period from ebay sellers in the UK I can rule out my local post office as the problem. In Seer in the Dark’s case based on what USPS (the US Postal Service) has told me I'm guessing that he forgot to fill out the small forum which is required to ship something into, or out of the US. If this is the case the package is now most likely gone for good.

Would you happen to know if you filled out that forum Seer in the Dark?

It seems that Seer in the Dark has no intentions of trying to fix my problem. I've sent him multiple PMs, and he has done nothing to try and locate my lost Wraithlord. As of now he is refusing to reply to me, and has ignored my last PM and the post above. He has ripped me off, and I could have used the heavy weapon teams I sent him in my own conversions.

That does it. I'm done with The Trading Post. I'm sick of getting cheated by crooked members on this forum.

I'm sorry you have had such bad luck with the trading forum. Maybe in the future stick to trading within your own country to avoid shipping problems?

And as for your comment on this forum being full of crooked members, there are always people out there to cheat you out of your money, be it on this forum, or any other. There's nothing we can do about it, hence the warning to trade at your own risk. However, I and many others have not had any problems at all - so it must have just been bad luck on your part. Saying that the board is full of crooked members is not fair on the many many good traders we do have.

And I DARE Seer in the Dark to say that he did not receive my package. Enjoy your heavy weapons you worthless scum.

Wooah...hold on a minute there...worthless scum? That's a little strong isn't it?

Now let me give my side of the story;

I have been very busy with work lately (yeah, sorry for having to work for a living, but at the age of 35 with 3 kids and a mortgage it's gotta happen), and have also just had a two week foreign vacation. Thus the reason I've been on here so seldom of late and my lack of replies to Celestial Dragon...

I wrapped his Wraithlord (got to say, a Wraithlord with extra Heavy weapons for a handful of IG plastic...who was getting the better deal? Worthless scum indeed...), correctly addressed it, and knowing that the central Post Office in the centre of Bristol (the town in the UK where I live and work) has ENOURMOUS queues at lunchtime, I gave it to the young gentleman who works in my company's post room and asked him to post it for me. He has done so for me both before and since, and I can provide email addresses / contact details of satisfied "customers" from these deals.

I did query (following receipt of the initial enquiries from Celestial Dragon) with the chap in my firm's post room, and he assures me he did all that was required in order to post a parcel to the USA. What has happened to it since, neither he or I can tell.

My apologies on behalf of who/whatever has loused this up, but it certainly wasn't me. An apology for the "worthless scum" remark wouldn't go amiss (I hadn't noticed it before as I've not been on the forum much lately), but i seriously doubt I will get it...

I can also provide (for anyone who wishes to trade with me) trade refs from here, Bartertown, ebay and Librarium Online.

No post office can succeed without contingency plans.  Shouldn't the postal service have returned a failed delivery by now, and if not you should be able to locate its final destination.  Otherwise, someone should have paid for insurance on the package (which I always insist on when sending items through the mail that cannot be replaced, such as painting comissions and delicate models) so someone should be getting reimbursed.

I hope that you two can work this out congenially.  Until then, please refrain from making any other insulting remarks.

Well, I'll try again, but other than just doing what I've already done (checked with my post room etc) I fail to see what I can do.
I hope that you two can work this out congenially.  Until then, please refrain from making any other insulting remarks.

I quite agree. Apologies for my own which I have removed...but I would like an apology for the "worthless scum" remark, or I will start to consider further action.

There must be some kind of record that you can hold the post office accountable for (otherwise they could just toss your package out the window with a smile).  Whether this is a tracking number, list of packages processed on that date, et cetera, is dependant on that post office.

I hope that this turns out well, and if it does I will expect an apology.  Take care of business first, though.

...a tracking number, list of packages processed on that date, et cetera...

Trying to find any of that. My collegaue in my company's post room is trying to sort something out there by cointacting the business post collection centre  to see if they have any records.

I hope that this turns out well, and if it does I will expect an apology.  Take care of business first, though.

"Remove it - NOW"?  celestial.dragon hasn't even visited the forum since you made your post.  Last Active:     18 August 2006, 08:28:42 so it's not exactly plausible for you to expect him to know that you are trying to discuss this with him.  Perhaps you should send him an e-mail explaining your end of the issue so that he is aware.  I also fail to see what legal action against celestial.dragon would achieve.

I don't think Mr. Peanut meant an apology to himself (unless there's something other than what's posted here). I think the main thing here is that first off, you are now making an effort to find out what happened to the package. I know I had something sent to me from the UK recently and it was sent back when it arrived here in Canada. Why? No reason, they just sent it back and I found out almost a month after the fact when my friend got it in his post box.

As for being referred to as worthless scum, I think we can agree that that was born of frustration and anger because celestial dragon felt ripped off. While that does not excuse it, I think we can all understand and feel the same way if the situation was reversed. We all handle things differently, but let's try and let cooler heads prevail. I'm sure if it all turned out to be the fault of the post office, I'm sure celestial dragon would apologise immediately.

So for now, you've taken a positive step in trying to resolve this Seer in the Dark. What you said is true, we all have lives and they don't always coincide with things the way we want. So let's none of us jump the gun and see what we can find out from the post office. Lord knows they've lost more than a few things in their history. For all we know, the package could be sitting in Bora Bora enjoying the sun because someone misread the address...

The fact that you've addressed this issue, later rather than never shows to me that you are concerned about this and want to see it rectified if you you're able to do anything. I'd like to think that when and if celestial dragon sees these posts, he will apologise for the remark.

...I also fail to see what legal action against celestial.dragon would achieve.

It would acheive nothing. I was taking legal advice with regards to the implications of people posting remarks like that on a forum like this, with regards to the forums obligation to investigate and remove and the poster's obligations etc etc.

I'm bored now. I'll email the dude to let him know whats occuring. Up to him, but I would like to think common courtesy would prevail.

Many thanks to all for their opinions and thoughtful words etc.

On with the trading . . .

Taken directly from the User agreement both you and dragon accepted upon joining,
"
You remain solely responsible for the content of your posted messages. Furthermore, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless the owners of this forum, any related websites to this forum, its staff, and its subsidiaries."

So, the only legal action that can be taken is against Dragon and not our site.  But, that would be a little over the top considering it's something that can, and will, be edited out with ease.

Excellent...kind of what I was hoping to be the case. Idle curiousity really. Anyway, it was an apology I was seeking rather than legal action. Hopefully that'll arrive.

On with the trading though, as I said

Well, I've done all I can. I do have a further spare Wraithlord which was what he was trading with me in the first place, which he could have (as it appears the original has gone astray in the post), if I received an apology.

But, like I said...I'm bored now. I shall continue trading but UK only (as a result of this and another customs-related problem I had with UK / USA trading). Thank you all once agains for your considered opinions and input.

Indeed, I meant that I recommend that Celestial Dragon apologize to Seer In The Dark if the trade is completed as originally agreed upon.  No one has any reason to apologize to me, pardon me for making an ambiguous statement.

That's nominally good news, then.  If you have truly made all reasonable inquiries with the post office, and have messaged Celestial Dragon with offers of cooperation to the addresses he has provided, you have done all that you can for now.  Sending repeated inquiries could be seen as harrassment (I don't expect any such charge to occur, nor should it).

How this issue is resolved is between Seer In The Dark and Celestial Dragon.  Good luck to you both, and happy trading in the future.

First off let me apologize to the forum for starting this mess. I shouldn't be posting things like "you worthless scum" on any of the forums. I should have kept that comment to myself.

I'd also like to apologize directly to Seer in the Dark. He sincerely seems to want to fix what happened, and I appreciate that. He has even offered to replace the wraithlord if he can't track the original one down.

Please understand that at the time I had just been genuinely ripped off by two other people online, and one of them stole nearly $300 from me. Basically I was steamed, and posted what I did out of frustration. I would have apologized a bit sooner, but that legal action comment had me a bit worried.

As for replacing it don't bother. I wouldn't feel right taking one of your personal models now that I know you sincerely wanted to make things right.

Angelic Revenge aka Simon Foley. He had a good rep, so we trade for a value of ~350 USD. However nearly three weeks later, no package, and he has yet to reply to my numerous pm's even though he's been on the forums when I sent them. Was a nice chap to deal with, but I don't know what happened to him.

The communication went very smoothly and we quickly had a agreement about out trade.

All the mini's were:

I would think twice about trading with Shade, The Thought Weaver.  I sent him 6 Dark Eldar Incubi and 3 Reaver Jetbikes back in August and it took until December to get him to hold up his end of the bargain.  If you do trade with him, I would suggest you ask him to ship/pay first and have him provide a Delivery Confirmation number.

I had a poor trading experience with Shade, the Thought Weaver.  He is an underage minor living at home.  Communication on his part ended after he received my items.  If I hadn't involved a moderator from this site, I probably would not have received my items.  Several items arrived broken, and there was a missing squad of Banshees.  Overall, I would not trade with this person again, and I discourage others to as well.   Thanks, Walter

Hello All,

I just want let people know that I had an excellent trade with Deathklaat, who packaged everything beautifully, communitcation was excellent, extreme promptness on his part and these models were in the best condition that I have received on these forums.

He sent me 2 Stygies VIII Vanquisher Turrets and 4 Leman Russes in less than a week with everything intact and in good condition (no spilt Glue, Damaged Sprues, or Chunky-asssed paint jobs to strip). He delivered more than I could hope from an online trader! ;D

Hands down, this has been one of (if not the) smoothest trades I have had on these boards or online even.

PM me for more information if anyone is going to deal with this gentleman -I will surely put your mind at ease.

To sum up:

Deathklaat has been one of the best traders on these boards, I want to give him two thumbs up! ;)

I would like to point out that the following trader: Fishy is a good trader.

The communication went very smoothly and we quickly had a agreement about out trade. He was honest about the damage on some miniatures [banner pole snapped and such] and gave me good clear pictures of what I was buying beforehand.

All the mini's were:
In a state like told.
Complete of the ones told
Painted with a small layer of paint that is easily to strip.
Packed properly in pieces of newspaper inside a small box.

He also sended me some bits which I didn't ask for to my suprise. [TY Fishy for that.] And didn't make a fuzz about the trade even if certain things weren't of equall value. [TY again Fishy] It was a pleasure trading with him, the package arrived within 3/4 days when we agreed to send them to eachother.

I highly recommend trading with him. It was a pleasure to cooperate with him. So thumbs up for Fishy.

I would like out that the following trader: faitherun (Fay-ith-er-run) is a good trader.

Like ussealy we came quickly to a agreement and decided to do a fair trading swap. I almost got a heart attack after I heard that I needed to pay 20 euro to send him 2 codexes but did it anyway. Once I contacted him and asked about him he even proposed me to pay a part back because it was so expensive for me. I refused the offer as the gesture was more worth for me then some money.

All the mini's were:
-Perfectly packed in a box way to large for them
-Allot of foam was used to ensure that nothing dented the box
-The box was in a PERFECT state, not even the slighest dent was to be found
-In the state like told

I highly recommend trading with faitherun (Fay-ith-er-run) . So that means + for faitherun (Fay-ith-er-run) his good and bad list.

I would like to point out that the following member: Alexander's Son is a good trader.

After seeing my offer for Faith his models he quickly contacted me about my chapter approved only to discover that I had far more for him to trade. We made a rough guess about our armies value's and decided to trade my Eldar army for his Vostroyan army.

Communication was smoothly, took a little more time then useal but this was more due to the part that there was more risk involved. We both agreed to pack our armies properly seeing as the postage office has barbarians woring behind he counters when it comes down to models.

All mini's were:
-In a good state
-One mini had a snapped of pistol which was caused due to shipping so not his fault
-Packed in a box full with foam layers and little pieces of foam
-Packed in 2 seperate boxes to prevent any damage neccesary
-In state as being told and being shown. [Aside of the little snapped pistol.]
-Almost stripped entirely, one model has a thicker undercoat layer then I like BUT is easily to strip so it is no problem whatsoever.

He also sended me more miniatures then I first thought, adding a space marine librarian in terminator honours and gun servitors [Ironacly I just traded mine with Fishy.] Thanks allot for that Alexander's son.

So that means I give him VERY postive feedback, as we were trading over around 200 euro worth of items if you buy it in the shops. It was a pleasure trading with him and I will do so again if the oppertunity arises :).

Positive feedback for Alexander's son.

Grimnar's Guard sprue also came.  Communication went great, I just don't know why USPS mail went so very slow.

Mork Incarnate's witchhunters are in my possession.  muahahahaha

All jokes aside, communication went smoothly.  Too my surprised, he mistakened a a sister's hero model to a cannoness.  I thought it's pretty damn sweet considering it a very rare model now.

Anyways...a years worth of work for me starts now =P

He kept up great communication, was very fair minded, and very quick o send out the Codexies. Also, both were in better condition than I have recieved from any other source, other than buying them new from Games Workshop. On a scale of 1 - 10, I'd but him up at 10.

So, that is a definate + for Archonbjorn

I would like to say that the following member: Archonbjorn is a very good trader.

I saw he had a copy of a Chapter Approved I wanted... but then saw he had more to trade. So I traded a Vostroyan army with his Eldar one!

Communication with him was fantastic, took more time due to postal offices and parts in risk to be traded. We both agreed to pack our armies properly seeing as the postage office has barbarians when it comes down to models.

All mini's were:
-In a good state
-One mini was broken but was due to the postal office and so not his fault
-Packed in a box with cotton and cloth. Inside little boxes very nicely packed and protected!
-Packed in 4 separate boxes to prevent any damage
-In state as being told and being shown.

He sent the codexes also along with the Chapter Approved. Thanks allot for that Archonbjorn.

All in all I give him VERY positive feedback. It was a pleasure trading with him and I will do so again if the opportunity arises.

Positive feedback for Archonbjorn.

Complete and painted in awesome colors. I didnt bother to ask him about the coloring and they came to me with awesome paint job.
Packed properly in a gw box which was again packed with wrapping paper.

I highly recommend trading with him once again. For the second time he has proven himself to be a excellent trader and I will most likely trade with him in the future again if the oppertunity presents itself.

Thanks Bjorn for the quote too by the way!

Grimnar gains a thumbs up from me.  Good communication and easy to bargain with.  Only complaint is the package took a long time to arrive, considering the relatively short shipping distance.  But otherwise, all positive.

I'd like to add Lix Tetrax to the good trader list. He was friendly and accomodating (despite my frequent changes of mind regarding which models I wanted to buy from him!), quick to respond, and shipped punctually. The only thing that could be better is the packing--the minis came with only packing peanuts for protection--but they weren't fragile models anyway, so it's understandable.

I made a trade with catachan devil sniper about one month ago.
Sent him nearly 400$ worth of imperial guard tanks and eldar pieces.
hasn't sent my stuff and hes ignoring me...
bad list?
I had about the same problem, I got my stuff, but not as pictured (very messed up) he also sent back some of the things I traded minus some parts... very bad list, I strongly considered legal action.
Title: Re: The good and bad list

That makes 3 strikes (or 4) with Catachin Devil Sniper.  I attempted one trade a while back for a bunch of eldar and tau, but made him send first.  Stuff not nearly as pictured, so I sent it all back.  Telling him why, and making sure he knew what he'd done wrong, and  giving him a break as this was his first trade attempt.

Did a simul-send trade more recently:
A large sum of my chaos for his eldar (I didn't include the Chaos codex included with the trade, and waited until my items arrived to send it, in case he never sent.  Or as it turned out, he didn't send half the stuff or it was damaged before he sent it like the first time).
Several of the things pictured never showed, and others were not as described. An example is the 18 or so metal storm guardians having mostly plastic arms, leaving out a dire avenger, and a farseer.  Also a vyper which wasn't damaged in the photo was damaged.  He then claimed they were never part of the deal, I showed PMs and posts stating otherwise, leading him to try to change the deal:
He send me a bunch of plastic guardians and me send the "forgotten" codex.  I told him he'd get the codex when I got the rest of my stuff.  I haven't heard from him since.

I would like to add biglaw22 to the Good Trader list.

I have made a transaction with him and he proved his worth. He sent the package swiftly and rather safely. It was not his mistake for the battered models inside as the postal offices are not treating packages so well... The communication with him was friendly, understanding and quick and I have to point out that he even refunded part of the shipping charges as they were lower than expected.

I know for sure that in the future I can rely on biglaw22 for a Good trading.

As for the Catachin Devil Sniper thing. I have traded with him in the past and was good to me. Sent me everything we talked about and not damaged.

not sure if this becomes a 'bad' marker or not, but ive pulled out from a deal with Catachan Devil Sniper due to excessive timewasting. this has been over a period of 2 weeks, and has gone absolutely nowhere. repeated promises that stuff will be shipped, money in cash, just waiting to get paid etc, then 'do you take paypal, i just need to reactivate my account'.

as a result im relisting my items.

I'm (reluctantly) adding grimnar to the bad list. He hasn't sent me a 20 man unit of IG cadians; I paid already (1-2-8) and he will not communicate with me either. It's strange because a few weeks before I got 25 space wolf marines (cheap too) he even threw in a couple extra models. Thats why I said reluctant to add him, but what do you do when someone appears to just take $25 from you?

I really hope this is just some sort of misunderstanding; if anyone knows him have him get into contact with me.

I had a so-so transaction with Ivellos. I did get the models for a great price, and he responds to emails very quickly. Those are the good points to mention.

However, I was asked to jump through many hoops and waited almost a month because of his lack of attention to detail. The transaction ended up costing me more money because of his negligence. He still refuses to accept responsibility for his mistakes and will not handle the situation maturely at this point.

I had previously posted that I would not reccommend deathklok's painting service to anyone. I stand by that 100 percent. It took me two weeks of calling and threatening to get him to finally give me back my property. He had hardly touched the work I gave him after six months and two thousand dollars. Message me for pictures of what he sent me, it is a nightmare. Broken plastic bits, poorly painted models, and I even paid him for some model kits he never even got for me... I have nothing to show for all that money and time. I was lucky apparently to even get my property back as he could not afford to pay to have it sent to me, or so that was the excuse he used. I would characterize his work ethic as non-existent and he swindled me out of my money and now doesn't have any plans to pay me back. Do not use his painting service!!!! The photos speak for themselves if you are curious, I'm posting this on all of his recent posts so maybe he will get the message that I am not someone to con or swindle.

Until Deathlok decides to contact me, I have to support cdtpullem. I commissioned Dethlok (forgot his former name at the time) to paint Two squads of five grey knights, even having him order me a set of ForgeWorld purity seals.... my deposit came to $79 and change and I had sent my models shortly after (50$ worth of GKnights NIB)
This was late December and early January, and in what little defense he'll have I didn't specify how quickly I wanted them back, but I kept making numerous inquiries as to the progress he was having up until Mid February, with no return.
The only response I have ever gotten in the past two months was when CDTpullem started having issues... I messaged him asking him if CDT's case was legit and all, and he promptly replied saying how much CDT was overreacting. Have not heard from him since (numerous emails have been sent, called on few occasions no reply).
The man can paint so damn well, its a shame it is coming to this... I am going to start asking my law buddies legal routes I can take, thankfully i used paypal so there is a record. If this ends up to be a scam I highly implore you, 40KOnline, to ban his account and notify all other major 40k forums.. this is getting serious  :-\

There isn't much legally that we can do Taphos, the money we would get back with a lawyer would go right back to the lawyer!!! I would like to see if there are any other "clients" of Deathklok out there who were treated this way. If there are more of us maybe we can get him banned from the forums, if not for being a con-artist, then at least as a bad business person. Then at least we would have cost him as much in potentially lost business as he cost us in actual money. If he couldn't handle the commission work we gave him, then he should not have taken our money, he obviously has not held up his end of the deal for either of us, perhaps there are more people like us.

My most recent email from him was a sentence long. "I don't see how I owe you 1100 dollars, I'll have to check the invoices on my old computer," he said. So when I didn't hear anything else from him later on, I made up an excel spreadsheet for him, since he couldn't be bothered to come up with a refund figure himself or pay me back. So with the copied invoices I have from paypal I constructed a complete picture of what has gone on for the past six months. And wouldn't you know sure enough the total amount of work NOT done/completed, added up to just over a grand, and the remaining 97 dollars I said was a painting fee on my behalf for giving me sub-par and broken work (se raptors chapter commission thread for pictures). I have had no reply to this and none of my calls have been anwsered. By the way if you want a copy of this excel sheet to see what I was charged for and what was done in the six month period, I would be happy to email it to whomever.

I really am not trying to get involved, but your wanted "consequences" seem unrelated to the issue. From what i see, and I may be wrong, but It doesn't seem like he is breaking any forum rules. I know this is kinda weak, but maybe focusing on things other the getting him banned would be better.

Mod- I really am not trying to backseat mod. If I am, just go ahead and delete this.

Deathklok seems to be using the forums to draw out commissions from unsuspecting hobbyists who think he runs a respectable business. He's preying on the users of this forum, he's made no effort to invalidate whats been said and I'm quite sure there are more people out there that have been had by him. If there are more people who have bankrolled his free ride, and he doesn't offer up an explanation for his poor business practices, then I say that protecting the users of this site from scams is pretty good grounds for banning him.

We have a disclaimer on the trading forum stating that we do not, and indeed cannot, police deals made here. i would like to report a member called Gryphin as a bad trader.  I know he probably hasn't shown his face around here in years, but in case he does i just want people to know not to trade with him.

i sent him a money order for some wraithguard a few years ago and he never sent the wraithguard.  I dont believe he has posted since then, but like I said, in case he decides to show his face again it would be unwise to trade with him.  he told me his real name was Adam Budda from Tulsa Oklahoma if this helps at all.  im not sure if its a real name but i just wanted people to know to look out for this guy.

i would like to advise people against trading with HENDYBADGER. this guy bought some ork bits off me on ebay ages back, and tends to sell a huge amount of forgeworld bitz. what ive noticed he does (having foolishly attempted numerous deals on his death guard) is entice you in and let him know your interested, ask for you to pay him via paypal, then stick the stuff up on ebay.

its not theft per se, as i you dont pay for the items, but a bloody bad trade ethic, i mean who plays a deal like that?

a fairly flustrated and pissed off Lee...  >:(

Going to have to put Cpl. Lee on the bad list. Sent him some bits in March, he got them but didn't bother sending out his half of the deal. Gave him the benefit of the doubt and waited but nothing. Been over a month, I find it hard to believe anyone can't find the time to send out a package. If you deal with him make sure you get your part of the trade first.

Of course. He explained the issue and I said no problem I'll wait. It's been over a month. It's because of those recommendations that I sent my items out first when I normally wouldn't. Just goes to show they don't mean a whole lot sometimes.

thanks to MajorMcNicol I have completed my first sale through 40K Online.

He posted payment(paypal) on the same day I sent the package, and was understanding about the shipping cost.

I have learned a lot for this sale and look forward to dealing with the rest of you!

Finished conducting business with Filtch today. The package came earlier than I'd hoped and I was elated to recieve not only the minis I paid for but 4 related minis and a few bits for free! The minis were packaged safely and the small bits were secure in a small plastic baggy. I'm happy with the outcome and the great communication Filtch maintained throughout the transaction. Thankyou sir.

This is a bit tardy, sorry I didn't get around to it earlier.  But I recently enacted a trade with Flitch for a lot of stuff.  The packaging was good, the quality of the shipped items was exactly as described and most importantly it was a good deal.  This is the second deal I've completed with Flitch and everything with all of it has been good.  I definitely recommend him as a trader.

Finished a deal with Filch pretty recently. Apart from a little issue with bases that should be easily resolved (and was made up for with some much appreciated bitz), everything went quite smoothly and arrived as advertised. Shipping was also remarkably inexpensive and very fast. Definitely reccomended, especially at the prices he's selling at.

Finished a trade with MarkAutarch only yesterday...

He sent me a package from US to Greece under a week and with all the special circumstances around, Christmas and all! The minis were in perfect shape and very securely packed! The overall communication was swift and friendly and he is sure to make you feel comfortable with him!

I will certainly trade with him again, if the opportunity arises, and I certainly recommend him!

mHz lives a half hour from me, who knew?!
Only thing better than the trade was not having to fork out the cash to mail it; this trade has completely made my year so far, and I do not doubt I will remember it as one of the coolest ever.

Although if I ever meet your pathetic Eldar on the field of battle, I will show you no mercy. The screams of your men will be drowned out by storm bolter fire. Eldar blood will flow like rivers; your race will die a little that day. I will personally cut out your still-beating heart and crush it within my powered gaunlets.  :-*

Again another good deal with MajorMcNicol, payment was received in great time.

He is a great person to trade, buy, and sell with.

Daedalus_Mk_V was a good person to make a deal with.  Everything went well from my side of the transaction.  When I found out I didn't have enough bases I thought I would make it up with some extra bitz.

I would recommend Daedalus_Mk_V to anyone as a great trader!

Indeed, I too recieved my package from thebarber. The minis came as pictured with minor bending. The bending was on a predator sponson but seriously, they are flimsy as it is. Besides, they will be magnetized so it worked out great! +1 for thebarber's reputation.

As we have gotten a new tool for this in the Trade Reference tool, I would ask that you not only use this in the future, but that, if you can, go back and post it for past transactions as well. I am going to go through all of those reference I have posted, and do so this weekend, and urge you all to do the same, so that this system gets off to a good start.

Edit: Ok, I went ahead and did a start of this, so all those that have traded with me should have gotten a PM to the effect of me asking you to post a reference on the new tool here (http://www.40konline.com/index.php?action=trader&id=396). If I missed anyone I apologize.

Oh andif I forgot anyone, sorry.. pm me and I will fix it.

I also got messages that these had to be approved; but I assume that is normal.
