WraithLord Conversion
« on: February 21, 2008, 09:53:56 AM »
Unfortunately this isn't my own conversion, it was a Christmas present. Converted for me by Khagrim... I was going to post the pictures in the origional WraithLord conversion thread but Lor advised me not to ressurect it.

Multiple appologies for the image quality.

The dynamic pose and scyth are really nice. The only thing that bugs me is the lumpy bits on his face. I love the traditional flat spaceless look of a wraithlord's face, I think it is was really gives them character. It's hard to tell from the pic, but is it maybe that one of the "thigh plates" from the sprue was added to the face?

Otherwise, it is perfect!

Wicked model. I allso think something's with the face. It look, well, as if it's just stuck on there.
Maybe smooth it out with some more green stuff.
Apart form that: totally awesome

I hadn't really thought about the plate on the face. First thing I did was break the scythe when I got it so a lot of my attention went on that. I'll have to ask Khagrim about it sometime... though I kind of like it.

I love it, but I remember someone doing this also, and someone said that it looks chaosy, esp. with the scythe...

Personally I associate scythes with Nurgle... so chaos jumps out as the first thing... but it looks very clean, so it's ready to bisect some opponents.

My 7 Cents.

Wow, that a very dynamic looking mini. Good work.

Just on a sidenote, I suppose it is stable enough and won't fall over in terrain areas?

Haha, oh dear. I haven't tested that out but I would imagine it will be ok. Its not precariously angled or anything... worst comes to worst I'll glue a bunch of pennies to the bottom of it for some weight.

Having seen it in person; yes it is pretty stable. Having the single model/base contact at the rear of the base and having the lord lean over the rest of the base means that it balances well.

EDIT: damn you Nikki, posting just as i'm typing...

loving the work
which craft world is it being painted as
The imperial guard is comprised of real men... they go to war in nothing but a paper vest (well it may as well be)
unliek those space marines and their fancy pancy adamantium armour....panzies!

I've sprayed it since the first pictures so it might look better now once I get hold of a camera worth using. And I don't even know what craft world... I'm just painting it Purple and white (minor grey details) with green gems.

It may stand stable, but that foot is gona snap off eventually. Great pose though. I like the model all told, but it seems to be missing the flamers/shuri-cats.

Wow! That's a sweet looking wraithlord. I'd really like to see some higher quality photos.
