I'm back ;D

I had some problems logging in :(
The major one being I forgot my password :-[
The second major one being the reset password email wasn't being sent to me. (And it weren't through lack of trying neither)
Until today :D

I've messaged Snike, and Col. Gravis, I know you don't mind waiting, but it is annoying me that I haven't got it done yet... My free time has been drastically lowered and I'm a slow modeller.

p.s. I like emoticons/smileys whatever... :P

Ok, things are going slow for me, but I'm sure I didn't need to tell you that. ;) Anywho, here are some WIP pictures of my take on Wraiths. Enjoy.

Moc, if you want me to change anything, just let me know. There are only two pictured here but the third is close behind. I'm starting some 12hour night shifts tonight so it might be a few days before I can get more done.

Well worth the wait my friend, and I am still painting the Warlock so platform and 10 guys are not near finshed either..... (no rush from you, as I am as busy as you, and I have bags of time).

On the the figs. The second one, is actually almost axactly what I had pictured in my mind, so very very well done, and I would hope the third is closely related to this guy.... The first one, looks a little over-done, and I would suggest that you simply remove the Lord's Arm with Staff of Light (save it for use elsewhere of course) and fill in the joint.

I have started a Necron Blog thread so you can find my Paint scheme easier (look at the Destroyers, and of course I will be adding the Wraiths ASAP. Thanks for your efforts so far, and I will get you some updated Pics of the Warlock, etc ASAP.

I also like the second one more. Sadly, I only had one arm to make the conversion. There just aren't many options for arms in that size. I've been scrouging around trying to find suitable replacements.

With the first Wraith, it actually has four arms. There is another one on the other side (same spot) that didn't show up in the picture. I know it looks over-done, but I wanted to give them all a weapon to unite the squad. Adding the second pair of arms with the easiest way to give it a weapon (again the shortage of arms). What if I converted the staff to form another scythe? Just let me know what you want.

Hey, I never realized it had 4 arms, so just leave it... as I just thought it may look off-balance (very un-necronian).

Oh and for the third, you could grab a Scything Talon from a Nid, or simply use a piece of sprue and shave down to be Scythe style.

Cheers....

I got a little bit more done, so here is where the colour scheme is going. Let me know if its Good/Bad/Ugly - OK.

Very nice moc. I like the contrast in the painting scheme! One question... how have you made the very pale skin?
Thanks to all the people showing faith in me

Croneworld (pale) Skin
  • Bronzed Flesh
  • Highlighted with Elf Flesh
  • Inked with very thin Flesh Wash Ink
  • Highlighted with Elf Flesh
  • Inked with ultra thin Green Ink (almost pure water) this knocks all the pink or red hues out of the flesh tones.
  • Highlighted with Elf Flesh/Bleached Bone mix. I sometimes use a bit of light Grey here instead of Bleached Bone; but that is for more of a sinister look.

I did all 11 figures at once so it took less than an hour. I will go back later and do the eyes etc.

Feel free as I learned it from the combined tutalage of several others. Oh and I forgot to mention that I don't Drybrush to highlight, just a few quick and light coats with very thin "Wet" paint (some use a wet pallet; but I find that for faces I don't need to go quite that far).
