Northern California Players (Monterey and Fresno and North)
« on: February 9, 2006, 11:01:03 PM »
Northern California
Rasmus is allowing for a Northern California thread and a Southern California thread.  Listed below are links to the profiles of people on the 5 pages of the old California thread that appear to be in Northern California.  I'm including everthing in Monterey and Fresno and North.  Everything South of there will be in the Southern California thread.

I'm listing the screen name followed by the city mentioned and if a specific place to play is mentioned, I'm putting that in parenthesis.  I put the link to the player's profile, so that folks can use PMs to set up games.

If you either PM me or reply to this thread and include your location and the place you normally play, I'll add you.

Thanks to Rasmus for the suggestion on how to do this, and hopefully this will help people play more games!!

Still here (waves hand), but sadly, Epic Games has bit the big one.  For East Bay gamers, action has shifted to Endgame in Oakland, although their WFB group is much more active than their 40K.

Anybody going to Dundracon next week?

Thanks, I'll change your gaming location to Endgame.  That's where I play my Fantasy as well.  I'm not going to Dundracon, because I can only go one day, and I don't want to pay that much to play.  Instead, I'm gonig to Great Escape Games in Sacramento on the 18th.   Only $10.

I'm Sacramento player (kinda).  Going to be playing at Great Escapes when I can afford more Space Marines.  I know this is kind of an old thread, but I'll be up and playing relatively soon.  Anyways, Feel free to PM me or IM at xChronomancerx (AIM).  I'd definately appreciate if someone could sit down and play a game with me when I get a few more models, because I can't learn just by reading the rules.  Anyways, yeah, Sacramento- Great Escapes.

Greetings Z3RO!!

I'll add you to the list.  I know there is a very strong 40K presence at GEG (I've played there many times).  If you ever get down to the bay area, look us up at Endgame in Oakland.

Cool, I've got family that lives within BARTing distance from Endgame, so next time I'm up for a visit (after I get a decent amount of marines, that is) I'll have to drop by!

Hey, Black Sword!  How ya doin'?

You might want to add another location in the East Bay: a lot of the old Epic Games players have re-constituted over at Who's On First in Dublin.  I finally went the other night and found three guys that I used to play against there along with several newer players.  Its a heck of a lot closer to me than Endgame, so I might actually start playing a lot more.

See you around!  (I still need to start making it to Fantasy night over at Endgame).

Ok... I'll list Who's On First for you.  Also, Black Diamond Games in Concord (right next to Fry's) has a brand new large store and lots of game room.  They haven't completely organized their GW gaming, but they have some nive tables and tons of terrain.  I was there on Saturday, and they had a good sized Hordes tournament going.

Put me down for North Bay, Santa Rosa. Outer Planes is the store.
"Of course the people don't want war. But after all, it's the leaders of the country who determine the policy, and it's always a simple matter to drag the people along whether it's a democracy, a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism."

So it goes.

I'm moving, but I'll still be in NorCal.  Chalk me up for Vacaville/Fairfield with no car  :(

Made the change.  I don't know if it's still there, but Safe Haven Games is (was?) in Vacaville...

Does anyone know when the next 40k tourny is going to be? Or if they're having another one at all..?

Sacramento here.  Trying to get my armies built so I can play at Great Escape Games.  If anyone is coming through the area, make sure you stop by.  I have lived all over the contry, and this is a really great store.  Good staff, and very nice environment to game in.  Also, if you are down in LA, Game Empire on Colorado Blvd is another great store to game at.

@OrionKale -- You should check out the group that plays in Petaluma Powers of the North.  The run their own tournaments, and thier calendar lists other local tournaments.  If you sign up for their Yahoo group, you get access to their calendar, which the guys keep current.  A great group of wargamers.

@Ixlar -- Gary and his staff are great!  They have a 40K tourney coming up on January 26th.  Even if you can't play, you should take the time to go watch a round or two.  Some very good players, as you know.

I saw that they had that tournament coming up.  I was planning on trying to head down and watch a little.  I'm aiming to make the March tournament right now.  Work is taking too much time away from army building.  Dang that work!  Oh well, I guess it pays the bills.  Dang bills.

Take me off the NorCal list entirely, I just got my bus ticket today.  Washington here I come!
