Why?

Why are there social rejects in our westernised sociteties where everyone is supposed to be treated well?

its a little thing called human nature

i think of it on the negatave side (all humans are esentialy evil and good is an aquired trait)

More like all humans are selfish, altruism is an aquired trait. Either way...

Equal rights isn't a law that's enforced on people that makes them into caring people. The only thing keeping someone on the outside of society is themselves really. No one can help anybody but theirself.  :-\

Haha... har?

You're saying that in a non-classed based society, people wouldnt be mean to each other? I disagree. I'd say its a fundametal part of human nature that we are mean to each other.

What bearing does class have on you when you are 5? Very little. Yet you must still remember the bigger kids being mean to you ( or you to them).

If theres a non classed society people will still be provoked, and then classes would be put in

I just had a thought.

I finished a book on animals yesterday, animals dont have classes right? not in the sense we use them anyway. As in, economic classes, FS was making allusions to.

But inevitably, classes ( if you can call them that) are put into affect. When animals are introduced ( lions were a prime exmple) it soon emergers who is the alpha, and the omega animal.

Dosent that too apply to humans? Although we can often get along no a similar level ( work mates, friends etc') it also often emerges who is the dominating person in a relationship, eg - the bully, the jock, the smart guy etc'.

This is more base instinct left over from Cave-times. Remember humans lived in small clsoe knit communities (or tribes if you will) these numbered well under 100 people on average, if you say beat another person with a stick. Then you as a male would be seen as more powerful on a different 'class'.

These 'classes' determined who bred with who. Higher up you were stronger/faster/smarter and more females would breed with you to make faster/stronger/smarter offspring.

This is also the same reason we feel public humiliation so heavily, because in our former tribes something like that every person would know and you would drop in your class..

Its in our nature. No law can prevent people from trying to seem better then others.

its true - there is no such thing as a selfless deed - even while we help others we help ourselves - even if all we get from a situation is the feeling of satisfaction from helping others.

Animal farm, perchance? That's an alright book, and it explains a lot about the degeneration of a classless society because of human nature. But, as the only known concious animals on the Earth, we can rise above our nature, can we not?

Sometimes I think that people maybe able to rise above there own nature, but we are still little more than animals trying to survive the best we can to spred our own genes. Human rights is about how all people are equal, but some are more equal than others.
People ask how come I play such a twisted army. I reply that I have the heart of a young boy; in a jar right next to his brain.

Because we have nothing else to contend with and so contend with each other.
