1000 Points Salamanders and Ultramarines.
« on: September 11, 2011, 02:48:59 AM »
Hey guys here's two lists I've been thinking of using for a 1000 point games I already have all these models and want to paint them as the two different chapters.

Salamanders:
Pretty much standard get in their face as fast as possible thunderfire is protected by combat squads. Assault Cannon dreadnoughts have worked amazingly for me so I wanna keep him.

Vulkan will break off and try and deal with other special characters or bog down units that are a major threat.

Ultramarines:
Use Cato's special rule to infiltrate tactical squad or give them a Str10 Lascannon. Cato goes with Sternguard and peels off to be a distraction and hopefully kill some stuff along the way. Terminators deep strike onto the drop pod to help out. If drop pod is destroyed will deep strike elsewhere.

Firstly Salamanders;
Quote
Salamanders 1000

HQ: 190

Vulkan - 190

Troops: 585
Tactical Squad - Power Fist - Combi-Melta - Flamer - Missile Launcher - 205

Tactical Squad - Power Fist - Combi-Melta - Meltagun - Multi-Melta - 210

Razorback - Lascannon - 75
Razorback - Assault Cannon - Extra Armor - Dozer Blade - 95

Elites: 125
Dreadnought - Assault Cannon - Heavy Flamer - 125

Heavy Support: 100
Thunderfire Cannon - 100

And Ultramarines;
Quote
Ultramarines 1000

HQ: 200
Cato - 200

Troops: 360
Tactical Squad - Power Fist - Combi-Flamer - Plasma Gun - Lascannon - 225

Scouts - Telion - Missile Launcher - Sniper Rifles (3) - 135

Elites: 445
Terminators - Assault Cannon - Chain Fist (2) - 240
Sternguard - Power Fist - Combi-Melta - Combi-Plasma - 160
Drop Pod - Locator Beacon - 45

I wanted to go with a theme for these two forces, Cato wants to kill an Ork warboss who's been devastating a sector and attacking key planets.

Vulkan needs to apprehend the warboss as he might have information on where one of Vulkans relics are, both armies have been almost destroyed and then ally to make a last ditch attempt to secure the area.

Or something a long those lines I havnt really fleshed out the fluff yet. :)
If a Farseer can truly predict their varied deaths. Would they not simply pick the one that appeals to them the most?
