if you could, would you give combat drugs to a unit of basic noise marines?

i think i might, since you could almost double their efficiency with some of the abilities, even though you might kill them while doing it.

the only problem to me is that they would be EXPENSIVE marines....yeah they would be awsome in combat and stuff but the points cost would be insane i think, if you used the cost of drugs normaly it would make 1 marine cost the same as nearly 3 marines!!!

I wouldn't give combat drugs to a single-wound model
as one bad roll of 2D6 will end its life untimely.
On the other hand, your model may take only one drug
option at a time. But then drugs become too expensive.

Well if we...
1. Wanted the standard marines too cost a large amount to turn them into a super combat unti.
And
2. Didn't mind the risk of losing a few of them (Hey Slannesh is fickle)
I would actually have a go with 3 dice. Okay so you are going to lose a few. Taht's a give. Rolling one dice is a large waste of points and it's just as risky with 2 dice as they are single wound models, and are going to take casualties anyway (unless you somehow roll magnificantly).

What it boils down to is that you are going to have to spend a very large amount of points on, another combat squad. But if you play Slannesh like that then...

I agree it would be too expensive.
perhaps as an upgrade for EC termies? Thats would actually make em really really good... especially with those little sonic and power weapons of theirs...

I've done the calculations for overdosing and killing
outright. They will to be published in my new (submitted)
DE article.

One drug option: save

Two drug options: probability of NOT being wounded 71.4%

Three drug options: probability of NOT being wounded 35.7%
probability of NOT being killed outright 89.3%

Four drug options: probability of NOT being wounded 11.9%
probability of NOT being killed outright 71.4%

All events with probability BELOW 50% are RARE and should
not be considered.
So going for 2 drug options is rather save!
Going for 3 or more drug options will most likely wound
your model!!!

As a DE and EC player, I give combat drugs only to
multiple wound models, and I always choose 2 options at
a time.

For instance, if your Chaos Lord has Darkblade, Dstrength
and combat drugs, he has strength 7 and with drugs (S+1)
has strength 8. This is useful to instantly kill
a multi-wound T4 model.

I'd do it like DE wyches, y'know, you roll once per squad, before turn one.  That way, each squad his it's own special abiliby...*Imagines entire squad that ignores first unsaved woundv PER MINI...Shudder*
