Heirs of the Laughing God: A Deadly Wit
« on: April 24, 2018, 12:02:07 AM »
I recently listened to Heirs of the Laughing God: A Deadly Wit, and had a great time with it. Has anyone else listened to this 1 hour audio story? I'm interested in reading or listening to more things like this if anyone has a recommendation, too.

I listened to it as well, it was a really fun audio drama to listen to. I hope they make more books in the series. I recently listened to Blood and Lies, which was also quite cool.

Care to post a summary for those of us that aren't necessarily current with the 40k background materials?

The story itself isn't consequential in the grand scheme of things, but is just a sort of slice-of-life/battle story. It's pretty short, about 1 hour in length. Basically, it follows The Masque of the Fading Dawn, led by the Great Harlequin Duruthiel. It starts with The Masque of the Fading Dawn hanging out in the webway. They sally forth and do battle with Orks, first in the air using vehicles, then hand-to-hand with a few cool set pieces. Besides just the fight scenes there lots of funny quips and some character growth and revelation for Duruthiel. Posistive mood overall.

Some music, liberal use of sound effects, and the cast of voice actors make this an audio drama, as Killersquid said. Good production value.
