40konline's member map is now online!
You can click here (http://www.40konline.com/index.php?action=mm) and click up your location on the map to let everyone know where you live. So far it has just started up, but if you click in your position on the map before you post here, it will grow really fast!
Go!

"An Error Has Occurred!
You cannot view the member map."
Any suggestions? I've re-logged in already and that didn't work.
-
I get the same problem - this isn't going to go the way of the search function, is it? ???
-
Same error here too, also Rasmus picture is gone atm, it is replaced with a swedish flag.
guess Rasmus is working on it.
-
I'm staff and I cant see it either.
However the higher ups now know of the problem, so just give it a day or so ;)
-
Aw :( and i was soo darn excited to show where i live!
I'll wait... i haven't seen a feature like this before!
-
Yet another reason why EO/40k.ca/40konline is so much better than the GW forums... kinda spiffy though, and it'll be interesting to see where all the different kinds of players reside.
-
Yay it works! This is a really neat feature I must say. Cheers to whomever made this possible.
-
Awesome stuff :D
-
Yeah, the permissions were set badly, but Kindred fixed it, and you can now add yourself to the map anytime you want.
-
Great idea! Who shall we give credit too? You get more of a feel that you know people now. Awhh, we are all a big happy family ;)
-
Is there a way to move the flag to beneath the Online Status indicator? It would be more aesthetically pleasing methinks.
-
No biggie really, but i agree with nubis. Maybe just test it and see how it looks.
-
Fantastic it is!!! Wow!!
just one thing...it could my computer...but have some problems with the pins...if i press 'back' and go back to the world map after posting my pin, the pins aren't located any more on the world, but on the logo of 'dedicated'....ehmmm....and I'm not living in the ad you know :p And if I reload the page everything is as normal again.

you have to refresh

Is there any way that we can have duel nationalities? I know that of the Londoners from 40konline one was born in Canada, one is of Spanish origin, and yet another is of Algerian origin. It would be cool if we could display the Union Jack and the flags of other courtires aswell.

I agree im half-irish/welsh but as it only came up wit h the union jack if i clicked on wales(where i really live) all i got was the union jack ,wales dont use that much can we have the welsh flag? so i had to in the end go with the irish flag even thoguh i dont live there anymore... :'(

With that i should also have a flag of China next to my current one. But i think we're mis-understanding the flags. The way it is now shows where the members are currently located, i think this is what it's intended for. I don't think it's supposed to show everyone what our nationality is... thats what i think anyway...
-
I'm pretty sure you're right.
It can be used to find people who live close to you to maybe get together and play.
-
ok , then i can live with that 8) i guess i AM overly proud of my celtic heritage sorry if i appear arrogant :'(
-
The flag is generated from the IP you are using, so it's where you are accessing the intarnets from.
-
The pins don't appear in the smaller country maps?
-
They are supposed to. Which map are you looking at?
-
The United States one
-
Some maps take a LONG time to load. However, you can click on a membername to get the pin to quickload and highlight. It is some flaw in how the object is loaded and optimised I believe.
-
will this be post up on the forum again soon?
-
It justs sends me back to the home page!!
-
Any reason it just takes me to the Home Page of the board when I click the link for the member map?
-
The module is not working currently. When the normal front comes back it will be back.
-
Seems to still not be working.

Link broken again. Takes me back to the main forum.

The normal front is still not back.

Incidentally, the last time we had a map, for those who clicked it would get a small flag on their profile. Is that going to happen again?
Just curious, is all. It was cool to have the flags, but is certainly something I can live without.
