Battle of the Primarchs!

Since my original thread was locked, I decided to make a slightly different one. I dont know if this was done before but, which Primarch is the best of the best. This is a contest pitting one primarch against another, this is purly on strength, fighting skill, ect. not on Favorites. Throughout the week i will set up different matches against primarchs, all you have to do is vote for the best.So here are the matchs:


1.Alpharius- Alpha Legion vs. Vulkan- Salamanders
2.Corax- Raven Guard vs. Lorgar- World Bearers
3.Horus- Lunar Wolves vs. Mortarion- Death Guard
4.Magnus the Red- Thousand Suns vs.Angron- World Eaters
5.Roboute Guilliman- Ultramarines vs. Ferrus Manus- Iron Hand
6.Lion El Jonson- Dark Angels vs. Fulgrim- Emperor’s Children
7.Sanguinius- Blood Angels vs. Luther- Fallen Dark Angels
8.Perturabo- Iron Warriors vs. Jaghatai Khan- White Scars
9.Leman Russ- Space Wolves vs.Night Hunter- Night Lords vs. Rogal Dorn-Imperial Fists

Example:

1. Vulkan.  He was a badass.
2.  Probobly Corax, though he was more of a sneaky guy than hand-to-hand melee.
3. Horus.  Duh.
4. Magnus the Red.  He melted faces ^_~
4. Roboute.  He was amazingly powerful.
6. Lion.  He was also amazing powerful.
7. Sanguinius.  He was a primarch, the other guy was simply a SM.
8. Perturabo I would think, though I don't know much about either.
9. Leman Russ.  He was extremely strong, more than Night HAUNTER (not hunter) or Rogal Dorn.

1/ Vulkan. Alpharius isn't the one-on-one type, in battle.

2/ Corax. He knew what he was doing in combat, while Lorgar's greatest feats are more to do with his charisma and oratory.

3/ Heresy period Horus wins effortlessly, of course, but I assume he's not the one we mean. Pre-Heresy Horus was certainly a brilliant fighter, but Mortarion has greater feats of strength and toughness ascribed to him. So I'll be controversial and bote for Mortarion.

4/ Angron, I think. He was an exemplar of hand-to-hand combat, while Magnus' talents ran more towards the mystical side of things, which won't help him as much in a fight.

5/ I'm thinking Ferrus Manus, as Guilliman was more of a thinker than a fighter.

6/ Jonson, of course. His skill in combat was near-unrivalled, while Fulgrim was not quite so focused.

7/ Sanguinius. Primarch defeats Space Marine.

8/ Tricky, but I think I'll go with the Khan. Just more ferocious than Perturabo, whose rather clinical approach won't serve him too well here.

9/ Russ, of course. Night Haunter is a nasty piece of work, but Russ was one of the greatest Primarchs in combat. Dorn makes a valiant effort, but he can't defeat Russ either, though he could give Night Haunter a challenging battle.

is this all pre heresy? cuz if not then the chaos primarchs win prolly hands down. however great they were before they would be enhanced by chaos. anyways, assuming this was pre heresy:

1. Vulkan , its already been said
2. Corax, "
3. Im goin with Horus, he wasnt the emperors right hand man for nothin
4. Magnus, his powers would for sure help him in a fight, he'll fry u or melt u or send u to the warp or sumthin.
5. Guilliman, I dont know much about Ferrus, maybe if he had a bunch of the cyber enhancments that the iron hands are famous for he could win, but guilliman has 2 powerfists with bolters underneath, thats awsome.
6. Fulgrim, he was supossed to be the one with the most marthal prowess right?
7. Sanguinius, duh
8. Perturabo, would he have guns to shoot khan before he could come to grips?

4. Magnus the Red goes all sorceror on Angon's ass. He does this whilst running away from him, but he does it nonetheless. Magnus wins!

5. Ferrus Manus has iron hands. IRON HANDS. Ferrus Manus wins!

6. Fulgrim is says mean, slightly perverted things to Lion'El, which makes his foe piss off to write some emo poetry. Fulgrim wins!

7. Sanguinius is all 'I have wings', but Luther's all 'I have a better backstory'. Luther then eats Sanguinius. Luther wins!

8. Peturabo saw this battle coming, and spent the days leading up to it building a labyrinth Khan finds impossible to escape. Perturabo wins!

9. Night Hunter. Because he's the Yhwh-condemned BATMAN.

7) Sanguinius of course ;)
8) Khan... He's got the right amount of speed to escape any traps and he's got the rage necessary to finish the job
9) So let me get this straight.  You have to put TWO primarchs against Russ just to have a hope to stop him?  I think that answers the question for me :P

3. Tough one. Horus. After all he was favoured by both the Emperor and Chaos
4. Angron (though his wounds might be fatal) unless you count Magnus pulling another disappearing trick
5. Ferrus Manus most definitely
6. Lion, and it'd still be close even with a post-heresy Fulgrim
7. Sanguinius. You should drop Luther and put a Primarch in his place
8. So close, but Khan would be so much faster
9. Russ no contest
10? How about the two forgotten legions? what are their numbers...

1.Vulcan due to seemingly better skills than alpharius for hand to hand
2.Corax due to there not being too much information on lorgars hand to hand abilities
3.Horus due to his amazing hand to hand skills and him being favoured by both the emperor and eventually the chaos gods as well
4.Magnus due to his amazing psychic abilities and he also was very very strong as he almost took out russ in hand to hand and his abilities were severely hampered at the time by the sisters of silence
5.Roboute Guilliman unfortunately
6.Fulgrim as he took out 2 primarchs at different times and he was very skilled in hand to hand
7.Sanguinius as everyone has stated before
8.Perturabo due to him being strong in hand to hand and as iron warriors troops storm breaches in defences their ferocity can match that of the world eaters or blood angels although it's only for short periods of time. As troops seem to follow the traits of their leaders I believe that perturabo would win
9.Leman russ but this would be a very very close battle I would think

Would you guys mind sharing a single or maybe just a couple great sources for primarch fluff? i know about the most in/famous ones, but i don't know too many stories about the salamanders or white scars' primarchs, etc... recommendations?

I got the majority of my info from the Index Astartes books I - IV.

Also check out www.Wikipedia.com as they have most of it too.

1. Vulcan- better in a stand up fight no doubt.
2. Corax- Lorgar was more of a missionary so would get roalyly OWNED.
3. Horus- don't know much about mortarion but Horus killed Sanquinius and that good enough for me!
4. Magnus- Would probably trick Angron into killing himself or something...
5. Ferrus Mannus- Guilliman would forfeit being the coward that he is...
6. Lion El Jonson- he was pretty badass.....
7. Sanquinius- primarch VS deluded marine.... hmmmm...
8. Khan- would just wheely pertubo to death or summin...
9. Russ- not only is he described as the best hand to hand fighter since the dawn of time but chances are that him and Dorn would ally against that bastard the Night Haunter. Then once he was dead i think Dorn would swallow his pride and forfeit as he sees he has no chance of defeating Russ.

and i know it has moved on since i started but i spent 5 mins writing this and i m sure as hell not going to waste it!
just dont count the votes though.
