Hi Fellow Ork players!

I need some advice. I'll be playing some 750pt battles this weekend against Tau, Necrons and guard.

I'll be using my dread mob and was thinking of taking:
HQ
Meka dread with KFF

Troops
deff dread squadron containing 2 deff dreads with 3 DCCWs and 2 skorchas
10 spanna boyz with Mek

Fast attack
5 killa kans with grotzookas

Or
HQ
Meka with shunta and rokkit bomb racks

Troops
13 spanna boyz
12 spanna boyz

Fast attack
4 killa kans with grot zookas

Heavy
Mega dread with kill kannon, big shootas and grot oilers

I've never versed crons or tau with my dread list so I have no idea on how effective they'll be. I don't want to fill up on boyz as in an IA8 list they're not as good as your standard ork list (only allowed units of 20 led by a mek, no boss pole, no BCs, no PKs)

So I'll have to rely on knocking my opponents socks off  8)

As far as I know the tau player has a lot of kroot, battle suits and hammerheads and the necron player has a monolith and a heap of warriors. The guard player generally plays a horde with creed, but I know he also has 3 leman russ battle tanks, lemon russ demolisher and the leman russ with the auto cannons.

Thanks in advance for the help!

The Necron player is bringing a Monolith in a 750pt game?! CHEESE!

*ahem*

Well, to be fair, your Deff Dreads shouldn't have a problem with that. I would go with the first list, for a couple of reasons. A Mega-Dread is perhaps too many eggs/points in one basket for such a small game, and also the boyz won't fare so well against template weapons which all those opponents can bring in abundance.

In terms of the first list, I would drop one or two of the kans, and maybe get a scrap trukk for the boyz to ride in, and make them a full trukk of 12. Has the Mek got any weapons? A burna might not be a bad idea for dealing with Tau infantry, especially Kroot, and Guardsmen too. I'd be tempted to give the kans rokkits too - both Necrons and Tau have lots of high-toughness stuff (Crisis suits, most Necrons) and popping a rokkit in their face is a fun way to get rid of them. If you don't drop any kans, you could split them into 3 & 2, and give the 3 grotzookas and the 2 rokkits.

Thanks for the reply Cheesy! The Mek doesn't have any weapons.

How does this look:
HQ
Meka dread with KFF

Troops
deff dread squadron containing 1 deff dreads with 3 DCCWs and 1 skorcha
11 spanna boyz with Mek armed with flamer in scrap trukk

Fast attack
4 killa kans with grotzookas
2 killa kans with rokkits

Should come to  744

Not being a kan or bash player I would say the last list you just posted should do just fine. You have the models to spread out and krump, and a unit in a truck to take an objective, the other stuff is just for wiping out the enemy and contesting objectives so I think you will do great.

I love small point tournies, gets lots of games played in a single day, Good Stuff!

Make sure to take pictures, and if you have time a few notes so you can tell us how your army did, and may I suggest even a Batrep? (I know, probably asking too much  ;) )

Go forth and krump.

Hi Guys,

So they ended up upping the points at the last minute and I was running late to the event so I only got one game in which ended turn 3. I versed Tau and he under estimated how deadly the grot zooka kans can be and I wiped him off the table :-)

I didn't take any photos cause I felt bad for the guy. I'll try to get some next month, when we do it again.

Thanks again for help guys.

Just to give some input.

I played kan bash last game I had, used;

Big mek - kff, BC

30 Shoota boyz - 3 BS, Nob, PK, BP

Deffdread - BS, Skorcha

Deffdread - BS, Skorcha

3 Kanz - 3 BS

3 Kanz - 3 Rokkits

Deffkopta - TL-rokkits

Played against tau, lost 1 kan, the deffkopta and about 5 boyz.... he lost everything except 3 firewarrior that were fleeing.

I was feeling silly with the list and got unlucky rolling an objectives game but we only had 2, held mine and pushed him right off his to win 1-0

[mod]You should have posted a month ago when it might have been relevant as now it's nothing but borderline necrophilia - let the dead sleep[/mod]
