Dread's Harlequins The Great Harli's Masque
« on: March 22, 2015, 01:15:33 AM »
Hi everyone. So I finally sat down and did some scheme ideas on paper tonight. I still haven't decided which I like best but wanted to put them forward for your input.

I will be adding more ideas thru the next few days and Alienscar, I painted one up just for you. This is the idea I was talking about in the other post. Painting it on may work better then molding it but it still looks like a goblin king to me. Maybe a change in colors like reds, oranges and yellows or a grey scale. Anyhow here it is.

My wife got home and showed me her favorite, which happened to be the Great Harli's face. Guess that clinched it.

Personnally i like thegreen and purpe checker and the purple and green checker the most. The pink one does not work for me i do feel more impact from the other, therefore i think it fits more the the harlie (and i don't like pink much but those are not my harlies)
The two head really does not cut it. I mean i don't  like it it look like a great goblin, that i have to agree, but it might just be becuse of the green color, with a bit of white and red had a horn or two, you could turn it in a kabuki mask wich,in my opinion, would work better. But at this point it's all personal taste,so... up to you.

I wasn't a fan of the old style jet bike that had a huge mask on the front and I agree with you that it doesn't work any better when painted on. As you say it does indeed look like a Goblin. Just in case you have misunderstood my post in your other thread the moulding I was referring to was one that would make your bikes look like Jes Goodwin's prototype which didnt include a mask.

Saying that I like the look of your last scheme which looks like a dragon. Maybe that is the secret to painting faces onto the bike. In my opinion the dragon face works because it is long and thin unlike the huge grinning mouth on the Harly face. It seems to me that the grinning mouth lends to much width to the overall slender look of the bike. Maybe if you could design a long and narrow Harly face it might actually work on the bike.

I also like the green and purple scheme.

Thanks. The mainly purple with a little green or the other way around? The dragon is cool but better for an actual elder jetbike I think. I am about to build my other 2 skyweavers and may mold the mask out and the same on my other 2.

The mainly green with purple harlequin pattern was my favourite.

I couldn't resist so I sat down and started this one...it is my wife's favorite one and she never really shows much interest in the games so....

The purple is really dark. I'm gonna go back over it with a lighter purple to bring it out better.

I'm gonna do 1 more like this and then the other 2 with the green/purple diamonds.

I'm gonna do the green and purple quarter areas. The right upper and lower left in green and vice versa on the right with purple. The masks will be washed in black and dry brushed with a metallic blue and a light blue high light. black and metal colors for various parts. Should finish them this weekend and get pic up.

I also just finished another model and will post pics on Monday after it has been entered into a painting comp for this weekend, not supposed to post them til after. I think everyone is going to like it.

Thanks!

And here they are!!!

On my Void weaver, I wanted to show part mask and part skull also staying with my purple/light green colors.

So I finally got some time off and got all my harli models built. I also started painting again, shakey hands still but trying real hard. Here is a pic of my next WIP.

Thanks guys. I just repainted the front of the one I did the face on. Wasn't really feeling like it belonged with the scheme I'm going with. Have some touch ups to do on it but this is it so far.

I also got more primered so I can commence painting them.
