Ork Bike opinions
« on: July 14, 2005, 01:36:29 AM »
what do u guys think of ork bikez ? i havent seen too many lists that include them. i think they are very fluffy and cool lookin myself. plus against hoard armies with low toughness or low saves they can be a terror for them. taking too shooting phases against my friend's dark eldar really makes him upset haha.

Ork Bikes ROCK!  Okay maybe they don't really rock in the game, I have yet to play a game with them, BUT I will take them for a number of reasons.
1. They move fast
2. 18 inch Twin Big Shootas
3. They give other units they drive past a cover save
4. When/if they blow up you can laugh cause thats what Orks do, fight, drink, and laugh at everything.  That was one of the deciding factors for me to start Orks, they are the ones that know how to have a good time.
that and the fact that I myself have an unhealthy obsession with SPEED!
(as in roller coasters and driving with the windows down, not the "drug")
Truly beautiful work. That's the kind of stuff that makes a true mekanik cry tears of joy.

I think they're great if used properly

they always strike first and if you equip the nob with a power klaw , you can deal with most units you come across

ork bikes are great, just have at least five. a possible 30 big shoota shots with re-roll misses in a single turn is devastating

yeah but you'd need a power kalw to make sure the squad can deal with anything like dreads , vehicles , monstrous creatures , tough squads etc etc

Chain swords are awesome.  The only way would be cooler is if they had tits and were on fire.

you can always get the PK bit from GW and use that.  I tend to use random bits and build them up.

Bikes may not be seen as much since they cost SO MUCH.  Also, as said, they are only good in numbers (I would take no less than 4-5 and even more might be better yet).

If you have 5 bikes and you work it right, you can have 30 Big Shoota Shots in just 1 turn (and any misses can be rerolled).  That is really fantastic.
BANNED - because spamming catches up with you in the end.  Especially someone who uses a school server to host Orks and loli.

Orks iz BEST cause we were made to FIGHT and WIN

They're great against small things, which you're likely to kill if you hit.

They suck against big things, such as necrons.

As I found out.

Painfully.

i used 5 bikes against my friends khorne army. they did pretty good. kill one or 2 marines a turn is enough to soften them up for the boyz :)

Even in relatively small groups bikes can be very useful. If ignored they can assault the enemy's more shooty squads tying them up for a turn or to. If shot at the can draw lots of fire.
Orks... They rule.
