« on: February 4, 2011, 09:56:12 AM »
WWWAAAAAAAAAGGGGHHH!!!!!!!!
Welcome to the WotW: The Green Menace.  This is the Ork Chain of Command (Ya understand what the chain of command is?  Its the chain I go get and beat ya with till ya understand whoze in ruttin command ere!).  For those of you who don't know, just about every forum on 40konline has a C.o.C. (or PoC if your a Panzee Eldar Git), and you have stumbled upon the Ork side of the trakks.
And We'ze Orks be the best and da Greenest of dem all.

There's a lot of events planned and in the works for The Green Menace, and it is here you'll see future events announced and the highlights of the past events.

Once you're in WotW: The Green Menace, post here regarding anything to do with the WotW!  WotW members can earn glory and teef whenever you work on projects, show participation, and WIN BATTLES for the Green Menace!  All the Details on how to do this are going to be shown here in simple and plain English.  So if you're ready to prove just how BAD and ARD an Ork you are, join da ranks of the Green Menace.

Da Bank
The WotW (unlike the udda non-green CoCs) has itself a banking system to track members Orky achievements, and make bets between other members.
You can check out the WotW bank by scrolling down

****************

WotW: The Green Menace KUSTOM TITLES
This is the basic outline of the WotW's ranking system and generic guidelines for promotion.  Note that these are not set in stone, but rather they are just basic guidelines for moving up in the WotW.  If you feel the need to progress fasta than your post count, all you need do is participate in events, write/edit Ork tacticas in the Ork Project forum, write Batreps and fluff, and in general prove yourself to be worthy of the title which can (and undoubtedly will) be awarded sooner.

*Please Note that ultimately you will know you have received a new rank when it either shows up in your Profile or when it shows up in the Member list (see below).  Now note that you should be patient as it may take a number of days after you've received a new rank before its reflected in your profile, so BE PATIENT You'ze guyz!  Additionally since I and the Warbosses/Big Mekz that are working with me are not gods and cannot see everything on 40konline (let alone the universe) if you meet the prerequisites and it seems like nothing has happened let me know and request your promotion and if you are worthy (and I'm not too busy with all the rest of running this) you'll probably just get it.

===Prospect===
-All new members will go through a 90 day probationary period.   During this time the prospect is expected to obey the rules, be an active poster, and show the WotW just what they are made of in order or earn their t-shirt.

===YOOF===
A Yoof is a young Ork who has only recently been born or only recently entered into the Ork Kulture.  It is not a negative or insulting term such as Grot, as all Orks start their careers as Yoofs, even the greatest in Warboss in Ork Fluff, Ghazghkull Mac Urik Thraka started out as a Yoof.
     • PREREQ's: Yoofs need at least 1 post on 40konline (duh), and join up with the WotW.

===ORK BOY===
Boyz are the mainstay of an Ork army, who have been properly kultured and indoctrinated in all things Orky.  They sit around and from time to time indulge themselves in the finest of Squigpies and fungus brew, the best relaxation for the Workin Ork.
     • PREREQ's: 100+ posts and an entry in Faces of the Waaagh Sticky

===The ORK ELITE===
This is where the Orks really shine, their individuality, and this is in both established fluff, and on our rather ecclectic regular posters for whom a regular title just wouldn't do.  The Ork Elite is therefore not a title in its own right, but a catchall term for specialty titles that may be earned such as BURNA BOY, TANKBUSTA BOY, DAKKABOY, SPANNA, DOC'S ASSISTANT just to name a few.
     • PREREQ's: writing an applicable tactica, article, konversion how to, fluff piece, or otherwise prove yourself through participation in WotW events. Appointment through a vote by the Boss Council.

===ORK NOB===
Nobz are da ardest Skarboyz among the ranks.  They've survived countless campaigns and earned themselves a place of honor amongst the tribe.  In order to be a Nob you'd naturally have had to have done a lot for the boards, and I don't mean stuff that just anybody can do like comment on an army list, oh no (although you'd need to do that as well.)
     • PREREQ's: 500 posts, a Batrep, and participation within the greater WotW activities such as writing articles and tactica for the Ork Project, konversion how to's, fluff pieces, and all other sorts of goodies.  Since some of these are also the requirement for Elite Orks you can also be elite Nobz, and I imagine most who reach Nob status will be Elite Nobs.  Some examples of Elite Nobz: BIKERNOB, TANKBUSTA NOB, MEKBOY, PAINBOY.  Nobs demonstate an overall knowledge and are starting to show their leadership attributes.  Appointment through a vote by the Boss Council.

WARBOSS, BIG MEK
The title of Warboss (or Big Mek which we'll think of as synonymous as to level) isn't something given at all, its earned through lots of work sweat and Orky Pride.  To earn this rank you have to do a lot of legwork which far exceeds the average user.
     • PREREQ's: Lots of posts, participating in WotW events and even helping run them in addition to working on the Ork Project board through writing or editing articles that will be put up in the Ork Article section.  Where the other titles of the WotW are fairly easy to get, this one is not and will have responcibilites to that effect as when The Green Menace grows to a certain extent it may break into a second WotW and therefore Bosses must be ready to take command of a WotW if the need be.  A Boss / Mek should be highly known and respected throughout the WotW.  They should be able to demonstate leadership and be willing to put a lot of behind the scene work in.

DA RULZ
You will be required to use proper netiquitte when using the board.  All posts that are found to be in violation will be addressed by a Council member and you will be asked to fix that post or remove it.

There will be NO asking for any kind of rank on this page.  Rank is something promoted thru your Boss/Mek for all your hard work.   We are on here all the time and are watching.  If you feel that we missed something please feel free to PM any of the council members and we will address or fix it.

If you find any mistakes, bad links, or anything that needs to be added to this page, please post a PM and address the issue.  Do not post it on the page itself as most things can be fixed with very little effort when brought to my attention.  PM Angel of Death 007 with any concerns in relation to this.

The Bank Account

As of 24 January 2017

Teeth are psudo points that are earned by doing stuff. The teeth can be accumulated and then spent for equipment, upgrades, and or bets.

The WoTW is about and for orks, thus, only activities that are about your ork army, or orks in general, are all you can earn teef for. Since none of the other races in 40k use teef as currency, it would be pointless to pay space marines or eldar with teef, as they wouldn't be able to spend it anyway. Remember; teef are for orks.

This includes batreps, tacticas, painting guides, modeling, articles, fiction, or any other activities that you can participate in on these forums.

Earning of teeth

1 for signing up for the The Green Menace WoTW
5 for posting a batrep*
2 for posting fiction/fluff (in the fiction forum)
3 for posting a tactica**
5 for posting a "How To" guide on modeling, painting, dealing with butimmus maximus opponents, etc.etc.etc**
10 for getting one of your tactica's, how to guides, etc. Published on the front page of 40KO

*Make sure to post the url of your teef earning accomplishment in this thread so teef can be credited to your account! When you post your accomplishment, please provide the link so we can all go look at it.
Also, one paragraph short synopsis type reports are not eligible to earn teef. It must be a blow by blow report posted in the batrep forum. Pictures and/or graphics are appreciated, and if it is really good, you might get some favoritism teef.

On Tacticas:
**- No member gets Teef till their approved draft is put into the Project Board, you earn an extra 5 teef if/when your tactica/how to guide is published as an article.

Teef for WotW Competitions (as run by one of the Bosses)
• 1st place 15 Teef + 1 Toof per vote above 2nd
• 2nd place 10 Teef
• 3rd place 5 Teef

For the Scrapyard, teef are awarded by Od From TV at the end of the month depending on your success.

Teef for Campaigns
1 toof for each point you earn for ork glory
5 teef for each campaign batrep and sometimes extra teef are awarded if you complete a special mission.
5 teef for campaign fiction
5 teef for modeling just for the campaign. A counter, a special hero/unit/vehicle, an objective marker, scenery, and so on.

Favoritism Teef
A warboss gives favor teeth when that warboss sees something that is deserving of teef, but it does not fit in any category above, or just because he is in a good mood.

Spending Teef
You are a naked ork, and you will need to buy yourself some kit.
Since a boy costs six points, and comes with three pieces of kit (light armor, slugga and choppa). This is for an already "grown" ork. So since becoming a ork is free then that means those pieces of kit are about two points a piece.

Consider the "life cycle" of an ork, that orks are grown. Then crawl out from under a rock, or something similar and has no kit, and then has to "find" it or earn it. When you join the WoTW you become an ork, something along the lines of you ripened enough to fall off the branch, now you need to find or earn some kit.

So the going value of an item is two teef per point, this means that a slugga will cost you four teef, and so forth.

Now you don't have to buy kit in any order, like in the codex, you can go straight for a big shoota if you want. Not to mention you can buy any kit you want as long as you have teef. So if you don't want a slugga and choppa you can save your teef for a rockit buggy. Once you have the buggy you have no need for a slugga and choppa as you now have a sweet ride.

You can buy equipment and titles. Once you have enough teef you can buy a piece of equipment for your rank. IE as a boy you could buy a big shoota or a rockit launcher. Once you are a nob you can buy big choppas kombi weapons etc. Or you can save up to buy a truck, bike, battle wagon and so forth.

For titles, again in your ranking you can buy a custom title, for example as a boy you could buy titles like deff copta pilot, truckk driver, etc. and once you are elite you could use your teef to buy the title burna boy, etc. The buying of a title will have to be coordinated through me and the Angel of Death 007. (as well as overworked mods)

The price of gear is X2 teeth, or 2 times the points of the gear in the codex. IE a Big Shoota is 5 points so will cost 10 teeth. This will also allow you to eventually save enough teeth for your own stompa, (est price 2,000 teeth) although it may take a few years...

Your equipment that you have purchased will be listed next to your name in the first post of this thread.

Also; since titles are supposed to be hard to get/earn/buy;  the cost is 25 teeth plus X5 (5 times) the cost of the gear. Say you want to be a Deff Copta Pilot, that will be 25 teeth plus the cost of the deff copta (codex X5), and you will have to be in a position to have that wargear, for example a boy could not be a flash git, but a nob can, etc.

Titles are the domain of the mods, so submitting for an addition/change of your rank title should not be done lightly nor frequently as you may not get the results you desire. Before you submit for your "Deff Copta Pilot" title make sure you are willing to live with it for a LONG time. No Refunds!

Betting

If two members wish to wager teef then they will have to make a public wager (not a PM wager) and will have to make sure that the orkountant and warlord are aware of the wager. Upon completion of the wager both parties will have to post that the wager was won/lost and who gets the teef and I can transfer the teef to the new account using the post url as a reference in case someone later thinks their teef were stolen.

Of course random missing teef will happen, it might be embezelment, it might be fees, or might be that the teeth were never credited to the account. A simple post url to prove the teeth were earned is ample proof of their existance.

Hello

I have been playing orks since just before the Armageddon world wide campaign, (a few years ago) and since the new codex came out I play them almost exclusivly. (I still play my eldar once in a while)

I am a speed freak, a full fledged member of the kult of speed. I thouroughly enjoy the the way the army plays, and a large majority of the armies at my LGS have adapted their armies to be anti speed freak, so when I feel that they are too fine tuned I bring my eldar and just hose their plans down the drain.

My favorite unit is my Drive By Boys. 12 shoota boys in a truck, one is the nob with a boss pole, riding in a truck with red paint, reinforced ram, and when there are points to spare, I add grot riggers. Their main job is to go for the trapped result (used to be called crossfire) and prevent fleeing enemies from surviving or rallying. Plus since the unit is cheep I sometimes use them to hold an objective in my deployment zone.
Of course they are not the hardest unit in my army, but they are fun, so I have 4 units of them.

Here is the link for my Faces of the Waagh: Da Link

Here is the link to my Burna Boy tactica: (yes it is updated for 6th edition) Da udder link

Hello everyone and welcome.

I am the newest appointed Boss in our WotW but I am a long time 40konline member.  I have been on the board since there was a discussion about forming the WotW and will be continuing to serve on the council.

I play many different armies but orks found a very interesting place in my hobby.  I like to convert and love making each of my models a bit different sometimes driving myself crazy trying to figure out a configuration that works best.

You will probably see me in other parts of the 40konline community as well.  I am currently participating in the tale of 8 gamers and am usually in the different painting competitions as well.

Tale of 8 Gamers (link)

I am here to help new members in anyway I can and to share my love of the green skins.  As a Boss I will be in charge of welcoming new members and keeping our main page up to date.

For those starting out or those veteran painters I did a painting article a few months ago to help myself and others get their boyz painted and on the table as everyone loves a painted army.  It is a step method I developed and has helped me paint faster.

Assembly Line Painting, Getting your boyz painted quickly (Article link)

I can honestly say that we got a great group leading us and a lot of very dedicated members.  We have a lot planned and in the works for this coming year so it should be very exciting for everyone.

So if you have an interest in the green skins like myself then join us and watch our community grow.

Hello everyone and welcome.

I've been on these boards quite a bit for the last few years.  I collect several 40k and fantasy armies, but have enjoyed the orks the most.  My interest in the hobby is primarily tactics and strategy, although I've mostly been painting and converting this year.  I like to put everything I'm up to on the web somewhere, so check out my sig links if you'd like to see my various hobby projects.

Feel free to msg me if you want more input in a tactics or army list post.  I mostly play speed freak type lists, and even made a tactica for them here.  As a Mek, I'm starting up a few pet projects on the this board soon.

IfThe Terminator Series' Skynet would realize something.....

If they send Terminators back in time every time they are about to lose....but instead...they send them to the point at which judgement day occurred...and each time after, send to about 3 months after the time they last received a terminator...The resistance would lose a lot quicker. As the technology would actually be improving too fast for the resistance to react.....The Terminator series would end...and Skynet would have won.

And I know I already posted a link in the old thread, but I might as well put one in here too. My How to Loot a Vehicle guide, can be found here:

And while we're at it, my game against Lord Tyrannicus also appears to be absent from the list of battle reports. Here 'tis:

As I have been noticing and commenting to several of you that your articles and tactica are very well wrote and are being noticed by our members.  Well myself and the other bosses/ meks got notified thru PM by a Project Editor who noticed your hard work and think it is worthy of being added to our ork project boards.

For all of you that don't know the Ork Project Board is where you post articles about painting, tactica, or whatever else could be used by the group.  Once a post is put in this forum members can help you by suggesting ways to edit it or improve on it.  Then it goes thru a project editor.  After that any corrections are made and then it becomes a published article in the articles section.  Having gone thru this process once before I can offer advice plus have contact with a few others who have published several articles.  Keep in mind I do believe that there is a minimum amount of posts needed to enter the project board (I believe it is 100 posts in the ork forum)  but I will double check on that.

The link to the project forum can be found here:
http://www.40konline.com/index.php?board=63.0

I have said it before and I will say it again.  Your hardwork does not go unnoticed and when you get a message from a project editor complimenting your members that is something to be very proud of.

Quoted from PM:
"I congratulate all of you on all the work you have put in on the Ork board.  There is some excellent material being produced there, and you should all feel very pleased with yourselves  ."

Best wishes,
Irisado.

I just thought I would share this and extend the offer to post up on our project board.  Congrats to all of you in writing your excellent tactica articles.

AOD 007

P.S.  I just went thru our board again and noticed we don't have a spot on our board here for tactica links yet.   I will start on that today as I definately think it can benefit those starting out or even those experienced in orks.  I will be posting / editing it today.  Anyone that doesn't see there tactica up there, just send me a pm with the link and I will add it.

Just a question about the project board. When you said "it goes through a project editor" do you mean that we ask a project editor to look through it and then (they) add it to the articles board? I just want to make sure I know how this works.

Thanks.

Just a question about the project board. When you said "it goes through a project editor" do you mean that we ask a project editor to look through it and then (they) add it to the articles board? I just want to make sure I know how this works.

Well the way it worked when I did it I posted my article up on the project board.  Several members and project staff got in touch with me and offered suggestions.   OD actually gave me a lot of great advice as well and helped me with some of the html stuff.   I think I edited it and posted it with changes about 3 times till I was satisfied with how it looks.  Basically after you get all the feed back from members on what to change, add, or improve and you make the changes how best you see fit then you send that into the article section for submission.  After a few days if everything looks good they post it in the articles section and it becomes published so to say.

The first step is that you post it in the project board so we can help you edit it.  Expect some praise, critisim, and good suggestions.  Think of the project board as a tool, critic, audience, and editor for your future article.

Here was my project on the board.   You can see some of the comments and suggestions that were made.
http://www.40konline.com/index.php?topic=206667.0

after you get all the feedback you need and get the attention of a project editor you can submit it for article publication by following the steps found here:

Catch the squig is and has been added to our links.  The grot appreciation league was in the process of testing the system and Croggy was going to do a trial run before submitting it to be a full on WotW event from my understanding, which is why he wanted such a small number of participants.  I believe future intentions based on the outcome of the test are to make it large scale.

This space belongs to

Bluu in da Phaes

Da Story of Bluu in da Phaes

Bluu In Da Phaes (BIDP).... all started out way back in da day of 3rd ed... we had a few boys and their faces were blue instead of Green (actually I was testing some different washes back in the days of true Ink)... anyway... Me Fantasy Orks were mingling with me Space Orks... and the clan was formed... we went to war several times, and we never lost a game over many many years of gaming... (when we won, we won ~~ when we ran away, we was only going ta get more boys ~~ and then there were a few times that we all got wiped out, so no witnesses means dat da battle never really took place, cus ya can't prove it).. anyway, we never lost. Along come da 5th ed and seriously cool Codex and some wicked new figure too (Woot)... We older boys decide dat da AOBR box set is too good to pass up, so we gets a set... dump da SM's for mor Boys (trade), never even get outta da store, and get an chance to repeat... so for $150.00 we goes home wit 4 full sets of AOBR Orks (woot)... a few weeks later I gets da chance to trade some more SM\s for another set of AOBR Orks (seamed like no-one wanted them)…. Den I gather da Mek’s togetha and start figuring a way to build a unique and “Fun” army wit dem all. So, since they have been Screaming (till their "Bluu in da Phaes") since the 3rd Edition, I figured that I would keep that theme going but with a more modern feel and look to it...

Here is a linky to our Faces of the Waagh spot that Shows off what Bluu in da Phaes looks like

I am not super active in the Ork Boards; but I have been playing orks for years and I have had decent success with them, aside from that I find them a very unique and "Fun" army to build/paint/play. At least they are never boring, so if I can assist you in any way, just let me know (PM). BidP isnot part of any of the big clans, we are a clan of our own; and although we may not be as big as some clans are, we could take them in a fight anyway, cause we do fight dirty - we do fight to win - and we have fun doing it.

Here is a linky to our first batrep for the Feb-waagh-ary campaign 500pts, BidP vs Dark Eldar Revenge match will follow shortly.

Cheers

Oi!

OD from TV here, and I'ze gonna bash all yur 'Eads in!

Well, not really.  This is the new 3.5 version of the WotW, otherwise known as the Ork Chain of Command (or Path of Command for you Eldar out there).  The Ork style of CoC is in my opinion the best out there, and not only because we are one of the largest, but because our members are some of the most active out there.  Just in the past week we've had new a bucket load of new content drop, both planned and un-planned by the Bosspole Council, and trust me there is a lot more coming down the pipe.

Sadly due to real life issues I'm not going to be online as often as I have been, but I'm still around and kickin!
AoD is one of the hardest working greenskins on the board, as is Skeetergod, DropFall and Deathpepper so don't give them any guff all right!

Now we've been approached by one of the heads of the Article Project Editing community, because a lot of articles are getting written right now (and why NOT?!  It is the best way to show off your Orky Pride and can result in getting on the Front page of 40konline!)

Now the best way to write an article (in my humble opinion anyway) is to post the first draft right here on the Ork board, where it will get the most exposure prior to publishing it in the Article section.  You'll have a number of people read through it and give their opinions, which often do expand upon your initial writing.

Then when you think you've perfected it, upload it to the Ork Project board located in the project section towards the bottom of the Forum index (if you can't see it yet, that means you don't have a high enough post count to access it).  Once uploaded there, a crack team of editors can point out any spelling or grammatical errors as well as help with the general organization and lay out of the article.

Once that's done click the articles tab on the top of the page and go to My Articles and click Add Article.  Once uploaded there it takes a week or two for final sorting and editing and BOOM your article is enshrined in the annals of 40konline's Article board, where it will stand as a shinning beacon of Orky knowledge, insight, and perfection for the future (and current) generations of Ork players to glean from.

Peace
~OD
Truly beautiful work. That's the kind of stuff that makes a true mekanik cry tears of joy.
OD, you once again prove that your are still the freakin Da Vinci of plasticard
