Topic: What eldar unit gives yer guardsmen the hardest time?

from what ive seen, guard tend to blow things away easily with their guns, but wraithlords in hth are nigh-invulnerable, and fast skimmers run circles round the tanks
id just like to see what unit and why, to get a good judge of imperial str's and weaknesses

Striking Scorpions-with their mandiblasters, power armor, infiltration abilities and the occasional Wave Serpent.   They can usually launch an assault before I've had a chance to kill them, and they are very hard to get rid of.  

Reapers?  I'm not sure of the unit's name, but the aspect warriors where everyone has, in effect, a missile launcher.  Those guys are annoying since they keep my line from advancing.  

Wraithlords & Avatars don't scare me.  They are too slow to matter during the critical first two turns.  Speed is the dangerous thing.

Umm, I don't know how the IG could let a WL into HtH.  Wouldn't they just blow it to pieces before it can even touch IG?

course theyd also be ignoring the scorpions ridin along up their flank, but i mentioned the IG big guns too
and dark reapers? i would think guard could take the losses of 2 str 5 ap3 missiles from em
hitting a guardsmen, fire warriors are more cost effective

thats a bad ass gun that can destroy tanks... especially good against tanks with 12+ armour, since this would neglect the armour and make it 12 anyways...

i hate em and my bro always has a lot of em in his army...

and delone, WL's DO reach your lines eventually, because they are VERY tough and you cant exactly concetrate all your weapons on it now can you, its not like his whole are comprises of that ONE WL... hehe

well that is a problem when they are part of a guardian squad! you have to kill all the other pin heads, before you can actually harm the heavy weapon platform

seriously though, i think the correct derogitory term for the Eldar is "Squiddies" (check out the 2nd edition eldar, esp. the old fire dragons, to see what I mean...)


by the way, I have no clue why you guys think Scorps are the worst (or best!) Eldar unit to face...mine almost always get blown away, esp. when im facing the massed guns of the IG.  Maybe its Ahra getting back at me for calling him a wuss?

dire avengers, they arent that bad in anything, dont cost too much, and can rip IG in h-t-h with WS4. also guardian assult squads(hand weapon&pistol) can hurt me.

well i never said that scorpions are bad...

in fact they are kick ass and can do sum damage, especially when they infiltrate and together with Karandras.

I always try to blast my bros scorpions, but he manages to reach me most of the time.

THen I have to handle him with my ogryns...

Scorpions kill IG anyway they want in hth ,in ranged (well 12" anyway  ;D ) and if they have haywire grenades they bust tanks with ease.

What I hate most in Eldar army is Seer Counsil

As my only Eldar opponent play Uthwe he uses that very often.

The biggest nuisance in them is the fact that are nearly indestructable!

Some people say that WL's are hard but they fall in couple of turns (they become threat when there is more than one ) but those Seer's can survive salvo from my entire army (including three Battlecannons) and still pose a threat.

Yes, I know their physic-powers are not too destructive but those Farseers and Warlocks will cause trouble for my Guardsmen in HTH and not even Ogryns will help.

s5 t4 3 wounds - they are pretty tough and they are part of IG...

couter attack - yes u ussually keep em hiding in a chimera or behind a hill, till a very dangerous in HtH unit comes dangerously close and you are in danger (dont u just love my use of vocabulary ) and then you basiclly assault that unit to protect the people that cant fight. its simple
