Enoch very quietly followed up behind the group hearing them chatter in the hall way.  He was not far but not quite as close as the others wishing to not join in the conversation that they where having.  Enoch thinking to him self how uncalled for and loud this chatter was let alone the sandwich crumbs...   Thinking back to his days with Tanith where his entire platoon he was in could stalk there prey and make less noise and evidence then this small group.

His las pistol out of his holster he just stalks the group protecting its rear following them observing and ready to call out to gain more help or eliminate the threat if it is small enough seeing as CQB was not his strongest card to play.

You move down the corridor cautiously, seeing the first set of doors in the corridor simply cut to shreds, laying as a field of debris on the ground. The metal fragments are twisted and burned, but don't appear to to have been subjected to a demolition charge, as the walls are intact, but have been taken apart by some more local means, like you can cut wood with a vibroblade. It is a mess of metal and you see more blastmarks down the corridor from this point.
You emerge in an intersection of three more corridors, the one opposite you short and ending in a badly bruised heavy security door, but looking intact enough. The intersection strewn with debris and bodyparts, as a few badly eviscerated bodies hang from the ceiling, with assorted bodyparts laying in the debris on the ground, cut to shreds. There is spent stub-gun casings here, blastmarks, scorches, bloodsplatter, bodyparts. This was a pitched battle, the blood around the closed door talking of someone getting in a bit late on the retreat. There are, at a glance, half a dozen bodies here, all looking to get security forces regular, but one is most definitely, or rather
was most definitely a member of the Planetary Defence Corp, but what a member of that company would be doing in a terraforming-monitoring station is of course anyone's guess.
The corridors to either side of you are a mess of scorchmarks, one barricaded, the other in darkness as all the lights are out or flickering, leading off to some other destination.

"The security room then."

Zhar hefted his boltgun and advanced down the corridor at the head of the group. He regarded the violated bodies scattering the deck and strung from the ceiling without comment. The stink of blood was strong even filtered through his helmet, and again he felt the rush of combat stimms through his system. Flexing his armoured fingers around the bolter's grip, he scanned the viscera-splattered darkness. This brand of carnage and ritual slaughter was the trademark of the darker breed of Eldar pirates, no less deadly foes than their cousins, and hateful with it.

"Ware the shadows," he growled. "Those that did this may not be far."

Specks stopped at the first set of double doors, closely examining the shreds of metal. He was trying to determine what method was used to put them in such a state. But from the looks of it, it was not done by any human technology.

Once they had reached the room full of bodies Specks admired the security door was still intact. He clearly wouldn't be able to break in, but instead would have to find a way to open it. He started to search the security guards bodies for access cards or keys of some sort. Though if they had any useful weapons on them still, he would not hesitate to recover them. "Lord Zhar, Jahn, and Enoch will you please cover me for a moment as I look for something along the lines of security passes? Also, would you ladies help me search?" The two girls seemed like they would be the least squeamish about looking through bodies, and  knew he might need to bypass security in a hurry later.

"What am I looking for?" asked Calne, too intent on aiming down the darkened corridor to have heard Grame properly.

"A security pass," Grame responded. "I cannot be sure as to what form it will take, but--"

Grame stopped as Calne's foot collided with a stub gun, causing it to scrape quietly against the floor. Calne turned, almost too quickly, aiming her lasgun down at the bodies below her, but relaxing as she saw the gun nestled among the bodies.

"Is that Phobos-pattern?" Calne wondered, almost bending down to retrieve it. She couldn't make anything more than an idle guess, but there was just something familiar about that gun's design, much as it was covered in gore and slightly damaged.

"You know this man's weapon?" Grame inquired. Calne paused as she spotted the gun's former owner, a soldier that -- so she assumed -- had once been a Guardsman or a PDF trooper. The body's uniform was certainly more reminiscent of the Guard than of private security.

It's just meat now, she reminded herself. Meat wearing flak armour.

"The Isanan PDF had them," Calne recalled. "We were trained to use them, in case we had to."

She looked away and shrugged. "Not that half of us weren't recruited from hive ganger stock anyway."

"You seem more interested in that trooper's weapon than in what killed him or how," Dahn noted. "Or, indeed, looking for a security pass."

"Shouldn't I be?" Calne countered. "If this place had military protection, there must've been something here worth defending."

She looked down again at the bodies, getting down in all the gore to rummage through the nearest body's personal effects. "Or even attacking."

(OOC: A note on pronunciation -- Wikipedia suggests /ˈkəln/ for Calne, as I named her for a town in Wiltshire. Yes, I am still stuck in my "place name for surname" phase.)

"If this was an attack, it was a poorly executed one."

Zhar half-turned toward the female who was busily stripping the fallen of their equipment.

"I would expect greenskins to crash their ship and allow a distress call to be sent, not Eldar."

He turned away and resumed watching the corridor.

"There's something else afoot here, mark my words."

Jahn nodded to Specks, standing a few steps from the door, and keeping his eyes on the corridors. He glanced over towards Zhar briefly at the space marine's comments.

"Could be they didn't exactly have a choice in the matter." He said with a shrug.

Rummaging through the grizzly remains before the heavy security doors takes some minutes. It is bloody work, and the floor is slick, crusted blood everywhere. The corpses hanging from the ceiling drip, silently, swinging.
A security key is found, and upon applying it to the dented reader the engine behind the door groans and a high-pitched grinding sound is heard. The moods shudder, but won’t open. However, with the engines engaged and the locks opened the doors can be forced open.
Inside there is a low wide room with a heavy reinforced cage in the middle, and several thick cell doors around the walls. The double doors at the far end lead to a short corridor with rooms like the restroom, lockerrom, security station gym and so on. Inside the door a body is prone on its face, the bottom half of its leg missing, the skull sliced open, the matter which was once the housing of consciousness dribbling out. At the far right of the room, propped up against a wall, sits another body, badly torn, with fingers, lips, ears and parts of the throat missing.
You hear a rattling from the cage in the middle of the room, and see a barrel sticking out through the propped-up and flipped-over desk inside.
“S-stay where you are! Stay back!” the voice cries out, the stub-gun shaking wildly against the bars of the cage as whoever is behind there is trying to aim.
There is a loud click from a speaker on the wall, and a cracked whisper from the speaker on the opposite wall, clearly damaged. The broken speaker emits a wailing feedback sound, whereas the one that seems intact utters, calmly, in a recorded voice. “Blink 6 post-test incomplete. Blink 7 operational status is green. Blink 7 in 90 seconds. Stand by.”

Zhar ducked through the doorway, forced to hunch over in the confines of the low-ceilinged room. Taking in the state of the room at a glance, he walked slowly toward the cage. Keeping his bolter lowered, he addressed the voice behind the upended table.

"Drop the weapon and you will not be harmed."

Enoch stays out in the hall way hearing the conflict with in and the demands made by his squad mate as well as the possible survivor.  Any one who tries to enter after Zarh will be stopped by Enoch putting his arm out sort of preventing them from going in. This is only a passive gesture and one could easily just push on with no negitive effects.  Basically the quite mans way to say sit this one out.

Alex stood on the hallway and clicked her tongue disapprovingly at the man in the cage.

"Now, now," She said, "There is really no..." Just then the speakers blared into life.

"Trust in the saving grace of Him," Alex intones, and then backs further down the corridor. Better to let others handle whatever is about to occur. After all, a medic has no place in a fire fight...

Yet her curiosity still pulled at her and she leaned forward trying to best see what was about to happen

Jahn had remained in the corridor, covering the rear of the group. At least up until the man in the cage started yelling, at which point he pressed himself up against the doorway. He took Enoch's unspoken suggestion and allowed the space marine to advance, but swept his shotgun across the rest of the room, keeping an eye out for other threats. He didn't move when the loudspeakers went off, but he did glance to the other members of the team.

"Well, uh, that's...ominous."

"Why certainly it is. But also highly conveinant, at least we are about to figure out what Blink Six was." Grame contented himself by remaining towards the rear of the group, his lasgun calmly in his hands. His eyes were looking over the bodies he had just rummaged through, poor felllows, never even had a chance with such inferior grade weapons.

The speakers, one broken, one functioning, clicks and a slow count commences, in slow bings and ticks, no voice heard. From the cage there is a cry as the man inside panics.
“No! No! They’re coming! You can’t! You can’t let them take me!” A loud echoing bang rolls out of the cage in a long line of smoke as the man inside the cage fires, the stubgun bullet hitting the shoulderpad of the advancing Battle-Brother, pinging ineffectually off him and ricocheting off into the ceiling. The man in the cage cries out as he resets the weapon and starts pumping out salvoes of three shots each, into the chest, legs and shoulders of the giant “Get! Away!” he keeps crying out between salvoes.

The speaker keeps counting down but there is another sound now. From behind, up the corridor you came from, there is a hissing, a clicking and then a long high-pitched wail. As you look down into the gloom and smoke you can see three shapes moving, one in the center of the corridor, walking with a shambling gait, dragging a long weapon on the floor behind it. The second is sliding with its back to the corridor wall, walking sideways, with a weapon raised and pointed at you. The third is crawling, slowly, in the ceiling, staring ahead, at you, as it shifts and moves, gripping the mesh grating overhead and pressing its body upwards to lay flat up against it.
The center figure throws back its head, and the silhouette shows off a massive mane of hair, as it shrieks, widening its stance somewhat, the eyes glittering as it stares at you. It is tall, slender, and quite obviously armoured, the weapon some sort of curved blade, now dragged on the floor behind it.

“No! No! Not again!” The salvoes keep ringing out from the cage at the Battle-Brother as the man inside obviously panics at the sound, firing wide now.

“Blink 7 in 30 seconds. Stand by.” The speakers announce calmly in their pre-recorded voice.

Alex cringed as the man in the cage fired off his shot. Luckily it hit Giant, and no harm seemed to be done. As he panicked, firing off more and more shots, Alex heard something approaching. Obviously this was what was panicking the man in the cage.

“Get! Away!” The man was yelling now, firing wildly. “Get! Away! Get! Away! Get! Away!”

Alex peered around the Giant and saw the two figures approaching, walking funny. Aiming at the largest of the two, Alex watched in morbid fascination as it shrieked, right before she began to fire at it.

"Orks!" She yelled, "We have beslubbering Orks approaching!

[ooc] Yes there are three - Alex only sees the two on the floor [/ooc]

"Doctor, I know Orks," Calne sniped, reaching for her grenade launcher. As capable as they were of climbing the walls and walking on the ceiling, the things loping towards them were still sitting in a confined space.

She slid a frag grenade out of its pouch and fed it into the breech, ignoring the shrieks as the creatures continued to make their infernal racket. Far from unnerving her, the screams sounded oddly like human suffering, the plaintive noise of those being tortured.

The noise of weakness irritated her.

"And so help me Emperor, those things aren't Orks."

She took aim at the creature in the middle of the corridor and fired.

---

(OOC: Calne does see the one on the ceiling, primarily because she has the forethought to check the trajectory of her grenade. Ammo count F11/K12.)

Zhar grunted in irritation as the small-calibre rounds plinked off his armour like hailstones. Zhar lunged forward, aware of the shrieks and sounds of movement from the corridor behind, reaching through the bars of the cage and grabbing the hand holding the stub gun. Yanking the man forward until he was pressed up against the bars, Zhar casually broke the wrist and hand with a flex of his gauntlet, forcing crushed fingers to release the weapon.

"I warned you."

One threat disarmed, albeit no threat to him, Zhar was turning before the dropped gun hit the floor. His helmet painted two targets for him; one in the centre of the corridor, one on the ceiling. He noted a grenade was already in the air, spiralling toward the xenos standing in the centre of the corridor. Fluidly continuing the motion of his turn, bolter rising to his shoulder, Zhar settled his sights on the enemy hanging from the ceiling and fired a tight burst of three rounds.

Jahn had stopped listening to the man in the cage long before he opened fire on the space marine. Instead he had continued to sweep the room with his shotgun, casually checking for anyone (or anything) else that might be hiding. He spun around as Alex shouted, opening fire with his shotgun as soon as he saw the figures.

"We can argue about what they are after they're dead, yeah?" He shouted over the gunfire,

Enoch drops to a knee and fires his pistol at the long haird shreaking opponets letting controled aimed bolts of las out at the moving figures.  Seeing all the other fire power coming to bear there was no need in his mind to shoot rapidly or alot as there is easily enough fire power to take down these three.

Grame had been startled when he heard the gunfire in the next room. But he rapidly came to the conclusion everything was fine, there was no way such a small sounding gun could penetrate the armor the adeptus astartes was wearing.

But then he saw the three figures coming towards him, and they were a wretched sight. He went to speak, but then the medic strted firing. Oh well, welcome to the Imperial Guard. He took careful aim and started firing lasbursts at a slow and steady pace.
