exodites general discusion
« on: September 19, 2003, 05:29:14 PM »
this is a new thread cus the other one was over

so i would like to jus get some discussions and hopefully arguments goin about the exodites and what u think they should be like where they live how they fight and live and what weapons they would have

ill start it like this i belive that the exodites would live in either agricultral communtity or a small quarters within a small places containing many people.

and i think they would have some options for fast attack such as grav vehicles but less tech and posibly riding any beast that can be thought of.

so talk and let out ur ideas

Unfortunatly this topic doesnt have a lot to go off of.  There has yet to be any form of Army List for Exodites, or official models, or extensive Fluff of any kind.

But I agree with what you said.

There were some Exodite Knights back in an arcane volume of Citadel Journal. I will see if I can dig that up and see if there was anything in it.
It was the same issue that offered Santi Clasu - the evil christmas-pudding bombing madman of the Segmentus Obscuris...

If Craftworld Eldar are the High Elves of 40k, Exodites are the Wood Elves.  (IMO) They're far more in touch with natural cycles, because of their connection to the planet they inhabit.  Id imagine their armies are small, elite, very fast and hard-hitting.  Also, Id agree with your assumption that they have less access to tech than CWE.

lets see what Rasmus can dig up from his library of lost lore.

btw, IMO that Santa mini sucked.  And there were really official-ish Exodites?  Sweet.

they were in 2nd ed, those were official

they pretty much had aspect warrior stats, plus a dragon, plus laser lance, with mesh

their lord was... the equivilant to a pirate prince, which was... like a space marine with lower s/t, better initiative

like, a ws5 i6 archon would fit the bill

TMP  is correct. The models were not presented in there though, just the thoughts on converting them, along with a Canosaur (a huge dinosaur you could mount your Prince and a cannon on, and which could bite tanks and sweep with its tail.)

Exodites have always interested me to a small degree.  From what I can tell they seem to have discovered a type of lizard resembling Dinosaurs.  They have some of the technolegy that there craftworld cousins have but not the same amount.  They also live in clans and in forests.  This is kindof basically all I know about Exodites. :'(.

this is what i wanted to get but the exodites could have similar wepons and unique wepons and if they ride dragons or wat ever ther probably be extensivly feed special nutrients and since i think they would be in touch with nature that the wariors and beasts would be given drugs or watever to help in battle.
like combat drugs

and they could prolly have some type of jet bike or somethin like that and would be lightly armed.

and i would think they would have somekind of large transpot type vehicle but more nature oriented

and all the elite could be very eathlike and probably more than likely very very skiled at being silent and fast striking.

as for housing projects i would think forest fortreses
ill let that sink in.

I also think that it would be cool for them to be like a sniper army with all diffrent types of sniper rifles.... here are some things I came up with off the top of my head

Inferno Sniper

ST: *  Range: 36" AP: X Type: Heavy 2

Strength is equal to your opponents toughness on a roll of 6 to hit the weapon becomes AP:1

Explosive bullet sniper

ST: *  Range: 36" AP: 2 Type: Heavy 1

Strength is equal to 1+ toughness of opponent.  Strength vs. vehicles is used according to this chart

D6 Roll of

1- Misses
2- St: 6
3- ST: 7
4- ST: 7
5- ST: 8 d6 armor penetration
6- ST: 8 2d6 armor penetration

That is just a start so how do you like it so far they are all just a bunch of specialist snipers with cool special moves like falling out of combat... also there can by guys on dinosaurs with strong attacks and stuff....how does it sound?

the inferno sniper is a heavy2  Eldar Long-rifle ... im not sure if you meant to do that.

if your looking for some good ideas for more dynamic snipers, i believe the imperial assassins have several types of rounds they fire, some for anti-armour, some for good ol' sniping, etc.

Maybe a bio explosive sniper round?

Heavy 2 for infantry sniping I meant to make range 24" though.  ;D

Wrap your reading tackle around this article, that should satisfy your thirst for backround - for the moment. It's an oldie, but a goodie. GW haven't released anything since about the Exos, so as far as I know this is still the official line.

Edit: Oh, I should point out that the article is on Critical Hit, a site we already advertise as part of the community, so I'm not breaking the rules...  ;)

Edit 2: Actually, the stuff we have on our OWN site is better! It's got all the stuff from Critical Hit plus a little extra too. Check it out HERE
