I recently started painting my "Deathwing" and was not particularly fond of the bone white scheme. I decided to paint them black with a heavy drybrush of dark angels green with a light drybrush of white over that.
Now I know that the deathwing was originally black and then bone white but I really like the dark angels green. Anyone else paint their Dark Angel termies any color other then bone white? And fluffwise how do you all feel about it?
-
the fluff of your armt is what you decide it to be.
Maybe you want to play a successor chapter of your own design.
Maybe your Dark angels are of a company that's on a quest of redemption and punished for some infraction which disallows them the honour of the bone colour untill their penance is paid.
Maybe you just like the colour better.....
Their your mini's. Have at it.
-
if any-one would refuse to let you use deathwing rules just because you paint them a different colour and say their a successor chapter, then their probably not the best people to play anyway.
-
Mine are black and red - Consecrators though.

if anyone complains, say "fine, they are the diciples of caliban who use this colour scheme" and that will shut them up
-
You go boy! And rock that Black and Green and call them whatever you want, with three snaps in a "Z" formation!
-
yep, make them the shadow Angels who accidentilly have the same colorscheme except for the terminators, you could make the dark angel symbol in a different color to diffentiate them a little

My entire Deathwing/Ravenwing army is painted in mutiple metalic drybrusings...much like grey knights. Their banner says "Angels of Deliverance". They are a prefectly legal representation of my own succesor chapter....just hand any opponant who is crazy enough to challenge you your DA codex and point to where it talks about "creating your own succesor chapter" :)
