Title: Ork Battlewagon - Kannon vs. Killkannon
Post by: Yeller Dizapline on January 19, 2010, 01:12:13 PM
Hey guys,

This maybe a dumb question, and hopefully this is the right board to post:

On the GW Battlewagon, it comes with an option for a large mounted turret in which you can place a kannon (I assume) or a zzap gun.

For gaming purposes, what distinguishes a kannon from a killkannon? And, if it is not something included in the kit, what recommendations do you have for mounting a killkannon?

Am I safe in assuming that the kannon is what comes with the model and I am free to mount whatever obscene, overly large, bristling with dakka gun I can get my hands on for a killkannon?

Thanks

That weapon in the kit is indeed just a kannon.  So feel free to stick whatever over the top gun you want onto your wagen! ;)

For gaming porposes, I think that it would have to be about as wide as your standard infantry model base.  Just to show that it is a large caliber weapon.  I'd suggest making it look like a crude demolisher cannon, seeing as Killkannons have the same range, but it's entirely your call!

Though I've heard there is a forge world upgrade kit with a killkannon on it.  If there is, try looking at that for inspiration.  Or buy it! ;D

It's not Forgeworld, GW has an upgrade sprue (http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catalog/productDetail.jsp?catId=cat300006a&prodId=prod30013a) for the Battlewagon available from direct. As well as the killkannon, it includes a lobba, a grot rigger and (most importantly) a deffrolla.
