This is a new feature that we're testing... in theory, the event is scheduled for January 28, 2012.
It should allow any user to sign-up for the event.
20 days before the event, a "confirm" button should become visible, if you have previously signed up.
the first 10 users who sign up and confirm should be listed as "attending" while the rest should be listed as "waitlist"
5 days before the event, registration closes.
No guests are allowed to sign up
users should be able to leave comments on the signup.
let's see if this works.... :)

I am going to beat up Kindreds toy soldiers YAY! :D
-
Tested sign up.
I mean this is a test right and not for a real event?
-
Do we just respond to this in order to sign up then?
-
What have I signed myself up for...
-
Just like always I've agreed to some terms and conditions without having a clue what they are.
Let's hope the event comes with a plane ticket and we don't need any dirty square based miniatures :D
-

nope.... you have to sign up as "attending" at the top....
Tested sign up.

and yes... this is just a test. There is no actual event going on on Jan 28.
I am testing the new feature so that we can decide it we want to use it for actual events.
As for actual events, TempleCon is running Feb 3,4,5 in Rhode Island.... 40k gaming going on there.

makes it a near perfect i-whatever type experience. A week after my last iTunes upgrade a shadowy figure knocked at my front door asking for my firstborn. I'm sure there was no connection....
-
I am not seeing the attending button....
Am I missing something here? (Obviously)
-
Hmmm.... there should be a section at the top of the thread (above the first post) which has a field for your username, a comment and a "sign up" button
-
I am not sure how to upload pics, or I would post a screen shot...
I am told above the first post that there is a liked event, but then I can't click on it...
Edit:
I just opened it in IE (I typically run Chrome) and it made no difference.
-
I signed up, but my comment did not appear. Is that intentional?
-
I'm not sure... I am checking with the author, because I haven't see my own comment appear either.
F... which theme are you using?
-
I'm using the Grey smf
-
ah... that's the problem... looks like some edits didn't make it into that theme's templates.
should be fixed now
-
And I'm in!
Waitlisted though >:(
Loved the terms and conditions. I think I can agree to those

lol well next time sign up sooner :P
As to terms and conditions...which I just got a blank there and Agree or Disagree button ::)

My comment still has not appeared, is this something that will only work from now on?
-
no... I'm still trying to figure out why comments don't appear...
-
ok... I've turned comments off, since, even if they did appear, it seems that there is a security hole in the form.
Also... did anyone on the attendee list get an email or PM announcing that your should confirm your attendance?
-
No such email or pm has arrived... perhaps it got lost by the mail man?
-
Nope no email what so ever.
-
Nope, no message.
-
Signed up without a hitch. I use Firefox btw.
-
No email for me, I only noticed the thread on my unread replies list and then confirmed.

...same for me.
-
Ha! I just bumped people off the list, and now I'm confirmed! Talk about showing up late to the party though... I'm pretty sure I should have been waitlisted.
-
Yeah - I was first one waitlisted, and now I am second registered....
-
Yup... Apparently, that's how the confirmation works... You sign up, unconfirmed and then get to confirm to lock in the spot... If the date is close, then wait lists can slide others out of eir spot by conforming.
-
That's pretty clever really.
Now, is there a way that you can have (automatic) mulitple columns so that you are not left with a HUGE swathe of names to scroll down at the top of the page?? maybe it already does this, but it might kick in at a certain number??
-
Ok, because I was put into the first available non-confirmed spot on the attendee list. I was put there before I confirmed, so it looks like if 4 other people registered after me, that I may have been pushed to the first wait list spot, instead of the bottom.
Maybe? I'm not very techno-savy, I could be way off.
