Transports or Death Dealers?
« on: August 14, 2015, 05:48:54 AM »
I've been playing Eldar for a fair few years, and am branching out into Necron.
Due to trades plus a number of birthdays, campaign & competition wins over the past 6 months, I've managed to get about 1,500pts worth without spending a penny -nice!Only minor issues is that I didn't get to choose any of it -but I won't grumble.

Anyway, just wanted a few opinions on which way I should build my vehicles, I have 1 of each:

Ghost Ark or Doomsday Ark?
Night Scythe or Doom Scythe?

I don't yet have a playstyle in mind -figured I'd get a few games under my belt and see what works for me. My meta is fairly light on flyers (rarely more than 1 per army), if that makes a difference.

Other models I have:
2 x overlords
1 x command barge

20 ish warriors
5 x immortals

5 x deathmarks
3 x flayed ones
1 x triarch stalker

3 x wraiths
6 ish scarabs
3 x tomblades
3 x destroyers

2 x heavy destroyers
3 x spyders

With my Eldar head on, I'm leaning strongly towards the transports because, speed. But maybe Necrons work best foot slogging? and the Doom versions do seem quite powerful.

TIA for any help.

i like the night scythe - useful st weapon and can 'beam' units up and down very effectively

your best overall unit is still wraith ... wraith .... and more wraith ... they can tie up or threaten just about anything and if you are lucky and not facing oodles of high st weapons they might survive for a whole game

i prefer immortals over warriors but warriors are a much cheaper option ... both £$ and pts

good luck.
