Catachans-Rambo more than actual Vietnam era U.S.
Cadians-Modern U.S./Nato (kind of)
Valhallan-WW2 Soviet, in part
Praetorian-late 19th Century British
Mordian-U.S. Marine Dress Uniform, Soviet Spetnatz?
Steel Legionaire-WW1 Germans?
Tallarn-Historical middle eastern/north african desert nomads

They are all inspired by history (or bad movies), but most uniforms aren't copied exactly.

Many of my friends have said that GW totally ripped off the Tyrannids from Starcraft.  "Those are the zerg!" they say.  Of course, the Tyrannids came out a long time ago and it is more than apparent that Blizzard Entertainment ripped off the GW stuff.

First off, GW steals stuff from EVERYONE.  They just look at something, and get a idea, which is very close to the orginal idea ;)

And I've been a Blizz fan for about 3 years.  I'm just too good in Starcraft/Brood War ;)  And yes, Blizz got the ideas from GW, GW had them out before Blizz even thought about SC....bastards at Blizz....greedy SOB bastards! :P

And that would be one cool lawsuit!  Blizzard vs Games-Workshop!!  DAMN!!!  It would just be a mass rumble...and think what would happen after it....after everything is settled...what would the people do?!!?

if SC WAS a GW game, imagine how big warhammer would be now (think of what D&D comp games did for D&D)

There was that Epic 40K computer game a while back. You can only play Imperial vs Orks for the campaign but it's fun to blow the dust off now and again and slide through a few missions.

There was talk of the fanbase writing Chaos and Eldar expansions but nothing so far appears to have come from that.

But see, GW is too fricked up to get A GOOD company to make 'em games!  They would never of got Blizz to make one, GW likes to get companies that have made really crappy games that no one has ever heard of.  Or movie companies that havn't made anything good.

GW needs to get into the video game industry, or else they are gona get screwed.

Ever heard of Warhammer Online? And Starcraft was going to be 40k but GW changed mind at last minute.
"Some call the Eldar  decadent. If that is so, then the Imperial Army could do with that sort of decadence."

Hehehe, I tried getting the demo of Chaos Gate, the demo was SO OLD, it didn't EVEN work on my computer! ;D

Riots of War.....oh god....waste of money!  I like the strategy to it, except it is so repeditive!  I just can't stand playing Eldar against Tyranids FOR A WHOLE GAME!  And the graphics are pretty bad too....

Think about this....MMORPG based on 40k!  Damn that would be sweet!  You could go on ship's and go to other planets...be Eldar, Humans, DE, Chaos.... ::)  Oh the possibilities!

Yeah, MoO is fun. Still got it on the computer at the moment. A well made 4X game (eXplore, eXpand, eXploit. eXterminate) where you colonise the galaxy while competing for space against your neighbours. A well thought out and large tech tree.

I haven't played MoO II but I heard it wasn't really much better than the first one.
