Oh, but as for the new 'dex...here are a few things that are floating around:
-Veterans will have special abilities (perhaps like Exarch powers?)
-Chaos Space Marines will be available in squads of up to 20!
-the Defiler is a new tank with close combat weaopns, a battlecannon, and a heavy flamer. It is going to be very mean from the sounds of it. It's described as a Dreadnought mixed with a mechanical spider...assaulting units can be attacked by it (so melta bombs and krak grenades can't be used against it)
-Havocs will have up to 4 heavy weapons, and will have access to plasma cannons (take THAT loyalist space marines!)
-the new Obliterators are HUGE (physically) and are going to become much more powerful. They will most likely become the Wraithlord of Chaos...the first and foremost point of cheese-cries (but who gives a crap anyhow? only bad generals complain about army lists)
-No more Cultists, but there will be Chaos IG and other "gone-Chaos" type forces [sounds fun]...saboteurs and insurgents for Alpha Legion
-The WD Daemon preview is a pretty good indication of what the new daemons will look like, and how the new Greater Daemon rules will work...much better for us.
-Daemon Princes are also going to be massive in scale (the minis are gigantic), but rumors about their abilities have yet to surface
-Dreadnoughts may get their own damage table to represent the ruggedness that they're meant to have (This will probably extend to the goody SMs too)
-Rumor says IA boxed sets for all the Traitor Legions...which means new plastics for Plague Marines, finally. ALL of the new minis are said to be brilliant.
-Raptors have new models (viewable on the GW site preview), and mysterious new rules.
-Armies must be themed (one mark only unless Undivided), and that only Undivided armies can have units with different marks or different daemon units.
More? I don't know. This all sounds crazy, and it will be thrashed as total crap by non-Chaos players...until they get their new Codecies. I bet that by the time Codex: Eye of Terror - Abaddon's 13th Black Crusade is released (just in time for the 2003 Summer world wide campaign, and the Cadian IG rules with plastics!) the Eldar and SMs will have a pretty new set of toys. Not to mention the Codex: Daemon Hunters in the works (actually in playtesting right now), which will have a huge power against Chaos (Inquisitors, Daemonic hosts, Death Cult assassins, Grey Knights, etc.). The new Imperial Guard rules are said to be fantastic...and I absolutely FEAR the new Eldar rules. Then there are the new SoB rules...
Anyhow, I must sleep.
